Anybody ever use these? How is the video quality? Is it possible to play without time constraints? I've seen them before but have always been in doubt.

The video is fine...just make sure you're running it to a low res monitor or something that can handle the weak video signal. The sound is fine as well.

The controls are what's crazy. Look at the pinout to see what I mean. The controls on these adapters can work fine on one cab and not work at all on another.

I'd purchase one if you have some tech know how and maybe could wire up an adapter.

Well the controls are important. Do you know whether or not these things can work with an Astro City or Egret 2? When you say "wire up an adapter" do you mean for the controls. How would that go? Could you be a little more specific, if you don't mind? If jamma has 5 shooting buttons and PS2/XBOX has like 10 which buttons for the system are operational--does the thing have a kick-harness or something?

I've had the pleasure of using both the xbox and PS2 versions of these, and I think they are both trash. The video signal has a lot of background noise and looks pretty weak overall. If you want the controls to work, be prepared to rewire your entire cabinet. The pinout is retarted. It uses the bottom 4 ground pins as buttons, as well as some of the other unused pins.

I would rather use ultimarc's adapters, as they use their hi-quality video amps. I made my own dreamcast to jamma adapter using ultimarc's dreamcast to arcade monitor adapter and a couple of stock dreamcast controllers. Picture quality is awesome on these.

The ps2 one wouldn't work on my Egret II: the controls weren't working.

yaton sells (or at least used to) sell them.

i had the xbox one, ended up selling it. it came with its own harnes which was a lot easier than redoing a standard jamma harness (the buttons keep going down the line from the standard 3, going into the grounds and other signals at the end of a regular jamma harness.)

but the video was assy. interference and dull. these should really have a video amp and they dont.
