Question about re-wiring my cab from Neo Geo to JAMMA

I really need to get my cab rewired. I have the old 1 slot cabinet that is wired with the seperate sound wires that plug into the side of the 1 slot board. Actually I think the cab is already JAMMA, cause my 1 slot board already says JAMMA on it. And I can even play JAMMA boards in it. There's just no sound. Should I buy a new JAMMA harness and re-wire this whole thing? Or is there a easier way to do this with the wiring in there now? Another thing that concerns me is the connectors to get the LED's for the credit counters working. They work now, but how do I keep them working with other JAMMA boards? Also, I have a hole in my control panel for a game select button, but no wire to hook a button up to this? I realy need a game select button for my bios chip, and my 2 slot board to change games.

My goal here is to be able to play JAMMA boards with sound, and get rid of this crappy one slot board so I can hook my 2 slot up to it. I will probably just get a JAMMA to Neo Geo adaptor after doing this so I can hook up my 2 slot board that's not JAMMA.

1. Your sound wiring is either fucked... Or your speaker is... You don't need new wiring for this.

2. You need to run a wire from the fifth button to the select button.. Or better yet, run a wire from the coin switch and do the input swap from the bios menu.

Actually I think he meant that the Neo sound works but not a regular Jamma board.

If you look at your JAMMA harness you will either see that the speaker pins are missing or that the wires just aren't used (depending on whether its dedicated or conversion). You can just add the speaker wires to the harness instead of rewiring the whole cabinet. Note that unless you do rewire some Jamma boards wont work correctly due to voltage issues.

How can I tell which empty space is for the speakers? My harness doesn't have a label. There is alot of empty holes in there. And I am pretty sure this cab is a dedicated one. It has all the side art, and the hole in the control panel for the select button. Is there a sure way to tell if my cab is indeed a dedicated one? It looks exactly like the mvs-1-25 one on the hardmvs website.

In that case, I would guess that the Negative speaker terminal is tied to ground... Rather than to the proper pin on the harness....

Or something like that.

It has a seperate harness that goes to a connector on the pcb itself instead of the jamma harness. The speakers just aren't connected to the jamma harness at all and is why there is no sound on a jamma pcb. He could wire the speaker to the Jamma harness if he liked. Just make sure the switch on the neo pcb says mono instead of stereo.
