holy shit I suck at Dimahoo...

one credit no continues gets me to the level 2 boss...

it took me 10 cerdits to get to the level five boss....

I try to focus on not getting all the bonus items, in hopes that I will die less, but start to get greedy and die going after a freaking boot...

HELP!

I got to about there, 2nd level boss on 1 credit. Its a good game but I wasn't playing it enough, never got to understand the scoring system either.

It's nice to know some other people are playing this game.
I definitely agree that the scoring system is not intuitive. And I just wish all those treasures gave you some sort of stat bonus; take the fantasy rpg theme a little deeper.

My best runs get me to level four on one credit but I always crap out before the boss. Even if I did somehow make it, that damn spider would tear me a new one.

I think a big part is finding the right ship for your style. I love the variety of ships in raizing games but this one never seemed to have one that was just right for me in terms of speed v.s. fire power. I liked Miyamoto's shot patterns and elemental charge, but he was just too fast for me to use; solo-bang had was slower but his elemental shot was hard to use effectively; karte always felt underpowered; grimlen was slow (which I could get use to) but his elemental charge shot was
I liked some of the hidden characters the best; the only thing that I hate is that you have to put in the code to unlock them every time. Why or why can't it save it like every other raizing game? Stupid CPS2.

I went back and forth between Gain (good balance) and Birthday (very strong homing charge shot).
What character are you guys using most of the time?

Edit: I went back and played some credits after posting this as it had been a while. Used Birthday and had my best run just playing for survival: end of stage 5. I realized I was always getting myself killed trying to milk the bosses and get that death blow with a fully charged shot (greedy for those stupid treasures ;)). If you want to survive just bomb the hell out of the bosses. With Birthday, one bomb on the second boss (right on top of the center, blasting all the while) is all it took. I'm going to swallow my pride and bomb those guys!

Ghitta is good; it's just her charge shot that ruins it: so weak.

One other thing that I think threw me off for a long time was the hit box size. I was used to the larger hit boxes in Garegga/Batrider/Bakraid...ummm, pretty much everything other raizing game except Brave blade has a larger hit box that Dimahoo.

Just a theory, but this game has a very small hitbox for Raizing and I feel like it wants you play it differently. More slipping between shots; less dramatic dodging.
But maybe that's just my approach; I know this is what made using Miyamoto next to impossible for me.
