I have tried to no avail to tweek my monitor settings on my 4-slot Cab. I am playing Bust A move Again, and I cannot distinguish between the colors yellow and Green. I have adjusted the R G B nobs on the back and they don't fix it. Is there something wrong with my monitor? Is there something simple I just need to replace so it looks better? or do I need to replace the entire monitor? Also when I turn the brightness up too much, there are white lines that appear on the screen. Because of that I have to keep the Monitor on a dark setting. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.....

Sounds to me your Monitor is going bad. The good/bad thing is that a new monitor is great when you first get one but they can be quite expensive.

How do you go by discharging this thing?? If I were to replace it, should I just get a professional instead??/

Man, he doesn't need a new monitor!!!! It sounds like one, if not two of his caps are bad... that's it. DJBomberman, all you need to do is replace the caps on the monitor. They control the picture and the RGB output. They go on Arcade machines about every 2 years or so (sometimes faster, sometimes slower). If you are good at soldiering you can replace them yourself. Find out the make and model of your monitor (if this is an original cab that will be the easiest) then call someone like Video Connections (http://www.videoconnect.com) and ask them what caps you need for that monitor. If you don't feel good about doing it yourself, call a local arcade repair or tv repair shop. This is a $70 job max, and most guys will come right to you and fix it.

Thanks. I am glad that there to hear that. I was afraid that I was going to have to replace my Monitor. I don't know if I feel comfortable changing the caps myself. Just exactly is the caps though? I don't really know monitors very well. I think it is the original monitor that came with the system as well. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

A cap is a capicitor, there are three a Red, Green, and Blue one. They are located in different locations on different types of monitors. Some are real easy to replace, while others are quite tricky... it depends on your monitor. I would call a local arcade repair or TV repair guy. Let him know what you have, and I am sure they will be able to tackle it. I

Thanks for all the info guys. It answered some of my questions as well. My Neo Candy has very faint lines that I can see every once and a while, but the image is wonderful. How much longer do you think I have until these lines are very noticable, do you think replacing my caps will remove these lines? Should I wait? Thanks nruva, you have always been very helpful!

Well I hope that works out for you. That reminds me, maybe I should get some caps and replace mine. Where do you go to get caps and are they of a specific kind?

The line issue is deffinetly a cap problem. I would say you have about 6 months or so... the caps sound shot, but they will hold up for a while. It is hard for me to judge though without seeing the picture. I would say that they will probably be getting worse by the end of the year though. I had lines on my Neo for over a year though, I just lived with them until I had time to do a cap job on the machine... it wont hurt anything, just annoy you is all As for buying the caps check out http://www.videoconnect.com. Different monitors use different sizes, so you will need to know what type of monitor you have before you call them (they can sometimes figure it out by the cab as well though).
