Not even a clean eprom boot:oh_no:
My condolences...BUT don't allow this to discourage you.I've received my fair share.

thank you for the confirmation!!

just to clarify so i know for future purchases... these are the suspicious things i noticed:
1) chips with covered windows
2) no ngh number anywhere
3) the chips with the chips on top of them
4) chips did not appear to be brands that snk used

did i miss anything?

The eproms aren't always an indicator.
My SS2 cart has eproms but was a SNK repair.

They are if every single chip is an EPROM (or EPROM and flash as is the case here). I'd doubt SNK would bother doing repairs on every single chip.

True.
But a few eproms shouldn't always be an indicator of a boot is all I was trying to say.

did you just win this the other day on ebay?

I think this might have been the one I emailed the seller about .... responded it was a boot but when I was going to post here as a warning, the auction had already ended.

It was one of those replies:
"... yeah to be honest, it's a boot. Bought it and realized it was a boot so I'm selling it."

... yeah selling it as a regular cart to another unsuspecting victim. The hypocritical douchery never ceases. But I guess just a reason to try and shoot the seller an email before bidding next time saying something to the effect "..is this a legit, non-boot cart and do you have anymore pictures of the actual cart itself?"

Sorry dude....

If this is the case, try to get a refund. If to no avail let ebay know and paypal if it was your payment method and get your money back.

That's good. At least you aren't stuck now.

Yeah I'm always extra cautious when they only show some stock 'google image search results' image for the sale . So good to also ask for some other photos as well to make sure even if they state it's legit that you aren't buying a cart that's cracked in half or something.

Glad you got it taken care of... Sorry I didn't get to post here befoe you grabbed.
