Was a pretty shitty Neo conversion, I stripped just about everything out of it other than the monitor years ago and had to leave it in storage while I was in college. So like 2004 - 2009 its been in a shed.

Still not sure what to do with it, not really into the big red look.

what size is the screen? 19?

I'd say turn it into a MAMEcab, especially if you already have a real cab and you don't want to turn it into a dedicated MVS. There's no reason to turn it into a "Street fighter" cab either because they have no personality. MVS is your best direction but since you're not into the awesomeness that is a BigRed, MAME the shit out of it.

I thought about Mameing it, but I wanted to keep it fairly stock Jamma so I can put 6 button boards in if I get any.

I was thinking about doing a Garou themed yellow/black/white cab. Either that or a pink/black/white KOF2k2 theme.

You definitely could, dude. Ultimarc.com is your friend. Get yourself an ArcadeVGA card and a JPAC, and you don't have to change anything on the JAMMA harness.

If you want to switch to a PCB, just yank the computer/JPAC and you're done. That's what I did.

Another problem is all the PCs I have sitting around are all old 500mhz P3s and I couldnt get Mame running on them for shit. Anything newer than .50 is super slow and finding roms for older sets is near impossible now.

Just do a 2 player 6 button generic Jamma cab.

You used to be in art school so just paint the cab however the fuck you want. I think it'd be cool if you did a design or paint scheme that had absolutely nothing to do with videogames at all.

What arcade hardware do you own these days, I assume MVS - anything else?

Had to sell it all, starting from scratch pretty much.

Yeah, I feel that - I'm down to three MVS titles myself as far as arcade games go. Though I still have a CPS2 mobo - just haven't got any games for it since I sold my D&D board :(

I still think you should go for non-video game related art, or just pick one of your favorite arcade games and paint the cab up with an art scheme based on it.

Go for it man, I think it would be really neat.

If I ever get a generic JAMMA cab then I'm most likely going to do a non-video game related paint job on it. I don't want to bother with trying to make a conversion into a specific cab type (big red, etc) or single game.

I think a non video game related paint job is definately the way to go! Exellent idea Lagduf.

Nesagwa - take your time with it and enjoy the project.

Just paint it plain black or blue or something.

I'm fixing up a generic fabtek cab with a tated monitor and I was thinking of painting it red one side and the other blue so I can do some Raiden ship stencils, since the ships are red and blue I think I can just do grey stencils to outline the ships, it'll be like a whole wall art, I like that look like the midwaycabs during the MK era.

I would love to do some freehand art on it though with a ship flying over some planet or something with stars and make it all atmospherical and stuff.

I filled it ok, but never got the paint matched, its just painted in near enough white paint now, but sticks out a bit, still better than what it was I guess.
