Sure can. You just have to add a jumper. The board has it labeled...

It's very easy. I modded one of my CDZ's in less then 5 minutes.

Sorry I dont have any pics to show you, but the jumpers are located in the right/front side of the main board.

but I thought the cdz can't display english because it was a japanese only system

It is a japanese onle system, but it can be modded.

Crack her open and look at the jumpers. Like I said, I have done it and it works fine. There are a few sellers here that sold them with a language mod in it.

will this just MOD simply the language or will this language MOD affect the censorship of the games as well??? <IMG SRC="smilies/spock.gif" border="0">

It is already set for the Japanese setting which has no censorship. If you mod it for english, you will get the censorship that is in that game, if any.

I would advise making your jumper a switch, so you don't have to deal with censored stuff for games that employ it.

Agreed. I just wanted a quick and easy, didnt bother with a switch on one of my systems.

The switch method works the same way as you would do on a regular CD unit.

This for single speed CD unit:
cut that language lines (if UK/US unit) or apply jumper (if JAP unit). get 2 wires, soldered each of da pin's line. on other end of wires, solder onto toggle switch (usually 3 pins: N/C, C & N/O). get something like miniature toggle switch with threaded neck & with washer+nuts. drill/burn a hole at da back panel of NeoCD unit CAREFULLY. yes, u gotta drill a hole on da back label.

make sure its at free area, dont get any contact with other circuits/parts. insert switch thru hole & lock with da washer & nut.

dont forget, make sure u insulate both soldered pins with heatshrink or use insulation tapes.
