I bought a "primal rage" cab today, however there are only 4 buttons for each player (no select or start buttons), how do i add start and get the 4 buttons working for neogeo :( ?

HI!
I have the same cabinet, it was manufactured by ATARI in 1994.
In this cabinet there is a Monitor WG K700 not the best but worth anyway and 2 speakers + sub for stero sound.
Not all PrimalRage cabinet are jamma, my cabinet wasn't jamma so you probably you must convert it to jamma.
It' a good cabinet for NeoGeo and Capcom PCB;)

If it's like this

I would suggest making the two buttons above (for each player) Select/Coin and Start and the two buttons below Neo buttons B and C. Then you'll have to add buttons A and D, following the usual Neo layout.

Mine is JAMMA luckily, however im not sure how to add buttons. Where do they get wired? Straight onto the harness or are these buttons pre done and I just have to locate the wires inside?

Yes this is my plan, however I do not know where to hook up the extra buttons frown

On the Jamma harness there are pins for the Start and Select/Coin buttons and for 4 action buttons.

Just rewire the buttons like MKL suggested and add 2 additional buttons to cover the A and D buttons.

The buttons use Ground as a common.

You can use <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com/manuals/Jamma2NeoGeo4SlotPinout.pdf" target="_blank">THIS</a> pdf over at Hardmvs.com to see where they should be wired.

Of course this is assuming it is a Jamma compatible cab.

Sweet, and yes it is done for JAMMA, there are a bunch of wines already rolled up not used :)

I more question, what does " Coin 2 and coin 4 " mean?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that Coin 3 and Coin 4 are duplicates for Coin 1 (Player 1) and Coin 2 (Player 2).

For Primal Rage, one of the buttons is the "start" button. It is wired to the start position on the JAMMA harness, along with buttons 1-3. All you have to do to convert a PR cab to MVS is simply wire 1 extra button(would be button 4 on JAMMA if it were standard) to the D button. I have PR and a Neo 1 slot and it works just fine on my supergun.

YEA! I'm done! All works perfectly! Even pre-drilled holes for extra buttons were on the controll panel! One question about Primal rage, anyone know how to get into the settings? the manual says there is a btton, however I canot find it and the settings button for MVS does not work frown

The switch is to the left side of the left red wire going to the jamma edge connector. Sorry for the big pic :)

That's the way the game is programmed...there is nothing you can do about that.
