Finally got another after losing my original.

Played it before bed last night just to get used to the cramped control space again (only real negative but I got used to it before and will again.)

A more than willing sacrifice for what is truly the most portable of portables.

This thing is going to live in my pocket just as my original one did.

With so many great titles on the system it's likely going to be the system I end up playing the most games on in any given year.

Damn shame it didn't catch on.

Apparently they're becoming something of a rarity.

Yea, GB Micro is good, but not as good as the new GBA SP IMO. It's cool that's it's small, but the small cramped size and lack of support for original GBA and GBC games makes it less worthwhile. Though it's hard to beat the portability of that little beast.

Maybe if you took your head out of your ass you might find a few games.

I loved how small it was.
There was a month period where I would try to 1CC bubble bobble
before I went to sleep every night.
neat little system.
wish I had 5 of them to take everywhere (and in case I lost one)

You've gotta love the build quality of the micro. It's probably one of the highest quality handheld game systems ever produced. All those plastic systems almost feel tacky in comparison.

Have 3 between me and my wife... great system. I like the shoulder buttons a LOT morre than the ones for SP (could never use them comfortably).

The fact that you could so easily change the faceplate and thus erase a few months worth of neglect in the form of scratches was brilliant.

Too bad those plates aren't going to be as easy to find now.

Going to actually keep mine in its little pouch this time.

I love the Micro, its definitely my favorite handheld system....I own six of them. Ultra portable, sleek design, great looking screen(w/backlight controls) and hundreds of great games to select from.

Like darcotrigger says, the Nintendo quality is top notch for the micro.....metal body/shell, exceptional buttons/directioner(perfect for kof, street fighters), and can take quite a beating since I carry one around with me at all times.

For me, the ergonomics of the micro is better than the gba sp. The feel of the gba sp seems too square and I never did like the "clicky" type buttons. I still go back to the gba sp only to play original gb and gbc. If only the micro played original gb and gbc games that would be the ultimate for me.

It looks like the standard black or silver faceplates can still be ordered directly from nintendo for $4.95:

I nearly bought a Micro back in the day, now this thread makes me wish I had. They seem to be expensive these days though. Any tips on where to find one on the cheap?

Just look and you will find, there are still kids saving for a ds,trying to sell their micro's.
I got a blue and silver one, both boxed and in near new condition(they looked new,but had some fingerprints over it)i payed €50,-( $65,- ) shipped for both.
There should be a lot more out there.

They are thirty bucks at gamestop. They have a ton of them, or atleast they did after Christmass. Thats when I picked up my newest one.

I bought my nephew the anniversary edition in the box when they were fifty at walmart. Few years back or so. It was stolen or lost within a few weeks.

I have an GB,GBC,SP,Micro and the DS lite. Out of all those the GBA Micro is by far my favorite. The second Megaman Zero 2 is too hard, btw. Are the others a bit more easy? If so I might try them.

I also like the fact that you can buy DS cases and use those to store the games in. There is even a website dedicated to inserts and modding the DS cases for a GB or GBC game.

Game Boy Player >*

for games pre-GBA, at least.

Playing old GB stuff on a 50 inch screen TV is bliss.

I don't know. I like playing each type of games (gb, gbc etc) on their respective system. I bought a gameboy light (gotta love indiglo) so I could play original gameboy games in any type of lighting condition.

I feel that each type of game loses something when you play it on a different series of gameboy (you know, like playing original gameboy games on the gameboy color). I like the monochrome look for gb games. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking....

Oh yeah, Astro Boy is amazing!!!
