Well, as some of you may have been following I bought a crazy taxi game a while back and things have been pretty unusual with the whole transaction.
So to catch anyone who missed out up on the matter I will sum things up.
I paid 2k for a nos crazy taxi upright.
It was shipped to the wrong place.
It got shipped to me and was trashed and not even close to being nos and non working.
Seller said that was the way he got the cabinets and was told they were new and stated he did not know they were not new because he never checked them.
I asked for a refund and filed a paypal claim.
Seller offered to ship me another. I asked for a refund.
Seller offered to send me a check to hold until he could get me another. I asked for a refund.
Seller said he found an new old stock crazy taxi someone else had and would buy it and ship it to me. I asked for a refund.
I got a refund.
Seller filed a freight claim on the cabinet.
An Inspector from the freight company (Roadrunner) came out to look at the game.
Months go by.
So here we are now. I've had this pile of junk in my way for almost 3 months now. As I'm still on the look out for a crazy taxi machine I catch notice of another person looking for parts for a crazy taxi upright.
Soon, very soon after that I get phone call response from my seller wanting me to send him some of the parts to that machine.
I let him know that until the claim is setteled and I know who the unit belongs to I can't do anything with it. Shortly after that he sends me an email letting me know the claim was denied.
I ignore this for a few days and get another email that explains the claim was denied and also asking me to send him some parts and take some pictures of the cabinet and such as he may want the whole thing back.
I agree to take the pictures.
Today I took it upon myself to call the shipping company and have a chat with them. I was informed the claim has not been setteled but they have had some writen communication with the seller. They could not tell me what as it is confidential even though I have the game and my name is also on the freight bill, but they could tell me it was not done at this point.
I've sent an email to the seller telling him I can not part out the machine as the freight company says the claim is not finished. I also asked for a copy of all communications to the freight company to assure me that they have no claim on the machine so that I can part it out or allow it to be returned to him.
Now I don't know, maybe I'm being a dick in all this but. If it turns out that they pay him for the machine then they can claim salavage on it as it would belong to them. I don't want someone knocking on my door to pick this thing up and it not be here on not match the original pictures that their rep took when he came to inspect it.
Anyhow thats where that stands.....
So now lets talk about Dragon's Lair.
A Dragon's Lair cabinet came up for sale on ebay. It was being sold by someone on another forum and I contacted them about it. I was curious if they would be willing to take the ldp out and package it up and secure it in the cab before it was shipped if I were to buy it.
I got my answer and was happy so I put an offer on the ebay auction as it had a best offer feature. I was informed that there was someone comming to look it at the asking price and if it did not sell he would accept my offer. The person comming to see it does not show so I am told and my offer on ebay is accepted.
Monday I send a certified check for 1500 and have it sent overnight and to be signed for. Every thing was good and I was informed he was taking the game apart to get it ready to ship. I was to arrange my own shipping.
Monday night I get an email saying the game is no longer working and he was going to see if it could be fixed but he did not wish to sell it nonworking.
I offer to buy it still and we can discuss the price as I can fix what he thought was wrong.
I get another mail and somethind different is what may be wrong now and I offer to buy it still and we can discuss comming to a price as I believe I can fix it.
I get another mail saying he will not sell it nonworking and does not have time to fix it and wants to send my check back (also has never signed for it yet) and will let me know if he gets it fixed.
I've not responded as of yet but am thinking of offering to buy it for the full price as is.
Maybe I am a jaded old ass but I kind of get the feeling someone came along and offered the full price for it. I do hope that is not the case and I am just being with an over active imagination.
So it's asteroids time.
I bought 2 games about 2 months back I was also interested in an asteroids from the same seller. I was offered it for 500 and it would ship for free with the other two games. The seller had his own shipping set up with a driver and a lift bed truck. However only two of my games came. I also had to take off work to be here to get them. So.. no asteroids.
The shipper no longer has his own shipping set up and it will need to shipped through a common carrier now. Another pain I don't need.
I'm seriously getting burned out on this hobby.
