Xian_Xi, I'm looking in your direction. :P

Is there any sort of step-by-step directions on how to do this? I'm considering consolizing my AW console so I don't have to put it in a cab anymore. I searched the Googlopedia but it only came up with sale threads.

The best way:

Cut the metal baseplate in half.

It shouldn't be much different than consolizing a MVS. There is plenty of room under the communication cartridge cover for a video encoder and room on the fan side for video and audio connectors. There's like 8 phillips screws holding the red plastic cover on. Under that, some metal sheilding that has a few more screws and the brace that holds the audio level adjust and com port to remove and then you have access to the PCB. Just follow the traces from jamma edge to suitable solder points. If you really need it, I can open mine up so you can see the inside.

Thanks dogworth, but I wouldn't want you to have to do that, plus I'm not exactly very experienced in soldering and tracing, etc. So I would need a step by step deal. Basically as long as I have some sort of picture that tells me "solder here, cut there, etc" then I'm good to go.

If you aren't experienced in soldering and can't figure out how to read a JAMMA pinout, this might not be the best project for you. Maybe just buy a Supergun instead.

Sorry, I've never consolized one before as I always tell people not to do it as it's just a waste since there is so few games for it.

But consolization is basically just a dedicated supergun. You can use my supergun diagram since that is what you will need to do.

You can also run it on just +5v but you need to replace the fan since it runs of +12v. If you wire up Neo ports don't forget to add the +5v line to both of them.

For the PSU get at least a +5v@3A one. Also keep in mind that the atomiswave uses composite sync and some monitors dont like that for VGA so you may need to get a sync separator.

I know how to solder, but I'm not certified is what I meant. And Ive had superguns in the past. Not a fan, too bulky. I'd rather have a nice, compact all-in-one set up.

Xian_Xi, thanks for the info.
