DO FAKE UMD MOVIES EXIST?

Just like the topic asks ... anyone come across any fakes?

I recently bought Batman Returns off of amazon... and something is just off about the packaging... 99% of the case looks normal...except for the rated R details look a little fuzzy...like a bad cut and paste...not horrible but def off looking....also the bar code looked like its missing the top 3rd of itself...and the disc itself is kind of ink-jet looking.

I have never heard of fakes before...it doesn't seem price efficient for the risk...but then neither does DVD forgery...but its all over.

Really? Why would anyone want to make a fake UMD? It doesn't make any sense!

But if true, I'd like to see a pic.

Aren't bootlegged items typically of products people actually want?

I dont think anyone would bootleg a UMD? It cant be a very lucrative medium to try to bootleg on

Even less lucrative than HD-DVD at this point I'd wager.. Still though, I'd like to see this.

I will try to get a pic on here tomorrow after work...not sure how well what I'm talking about will show up though.

The movie plays fine and looks and sounds good...also has a main menu...and the animated icon deal works when in the psp firmware.

It didn't come with an insert...and didn't have any of the usual security tape on 1 or more sides... not that all my UMDs have come with those though.

As far as price and profit...you would be surprised how much some UMDs go for (some up to 30-40 bucks) This Batman Returns one was only 14 though...but he only had one copy, and I cant find it anywhere else to buy. It just doesnt seem worth the effort outside your own collection.

..I also ordered a clockwork orange that hasn't arrived yet...thats why I'm wondering why the first "rare" UMD I buy looks off. I dunno maybe Warner Bros is just cheap. I have seen blank UMD disc caddys for sale though

For those who don't get why people like UMDs..all I can say is that come travel time I'm glad to have a good collection of them. Like the Sony Mini Discs...original copies seem to keep their general value well. And even though I have about 32 gigs in duo cards...I prefer to keep them full of games, saves, music, and self ripped DVDs of movies that have no chance of being on UMD, or movies that are super expensive on UMD....like the dark knight

I still don't get it. Seems like there are easier, cheaper ways to bring movies while traveling.

If there's a DVD Rewinder....there's a bootleg UMD.

I don't know about you guys but anytime I go out of town my psp comes with me...and since it plays UMDs and movies off a mem stick I cant really beat it.
It sure beats lugging around a separate DVD player and DVDs.

Plus with the video outputs I usually connect the psp to the hotel flat-screen in my room and makes it even more convenient.

OK, these two pics are of course of the discs/caddys... like I said the printing on the batman disc itself (the picture) is not as clear as any of my other UMD movies.
The other thing that I noticed is the spacing of the text on the UMD sticker in the middle of the caddy. The words the arrows point to are spaced differently...if you cant see them here download the pic and look close. Also, if you notice on the batman disc..the shiney borner that is outside the lable doesnt make it all the way around the disc perfectly...much like a fake DVD with a paper lable

this is the text on the back of the case that is kind of blurry...like I thought it doesnt really show in this picture...but other things on the back...like the "do not copy this umd" ..and the "all region" ...symbols I cant find on the back of any of the other 50 movies I have. Also the barcode is different than all my other movies
