I have some questions about the Mas Supergun and using some boards with it.

I read a lot about using the atomiswave through a mas supergun and have come across the issue with button mapping and the 5th button. The mas supernova I am about to get I believe was made before the atomiswave was released. Will this be an issue with the button mapping? Will I be able to change the button mapping within the game? The joysticks that are coming with the mas supernova are the 6 button capcom style joysticks if this helps with any of the button issues. Two of the main games I plan on getting for the atomiswave are KOF XI and the Hokuto No Ken. I know I can just play the PS2 ports of these games, but I do plan on getting a candy down the line and would like to hook up the atomiswave to it.

My next question is about the japanese STV-1 mobo and how well it works with the mas supergun. Do I need any special wired controllers or is everything already set up for it? I plan on getting radiant silvergun as well as some other games for the STV. Again, I know about the saturn port with all the extra's. I also plan on hooking the STV-1 to a candy when that time comes.

My last question is simply about compatibility with older jamma games and the mas supergun. I would love to get some classic beat'em ups like double dragon, golden axe 2, x-men, TMNT, TMNT in Time, etc. and was curious about how well the mas supergun runs with these games. Is there a way to get more then 2 players through the mas supergun, or a way to set it up so that you are not always going to be player 1 and 2 in a 4 player game that does not allow you to pick the player? I know one option is to opt for the 2 player version of these boards that can be a little more costly.

Thanks for any help!

As long as it's a JAMMA game you can play it on the supergun. Some of the older games you mentioned like double dragon and TMNT only use 2 or 3 buttons and are playable as is once you hook it up to the supergun. If the boards use more than three buttons with the exception of the MVS, you will need a kick harness to connect the extra buttons. These include the fighting games that use more than 3 buttons like the SFs, The Mks, The Tekkens, and so on. www.klov.com is a good resource.

Thanks, The supergun does include the kick harness. Now would the kick harness work with the atomiswave and games like KOF XI or will there be an issue with button mapping?

I'm not sure about that. Someone else here should be able to tell you. I got a Consolized Atomiswave so I didn't have to worry about it.

Atomiswave- If the Mas stick is wired with a select button, then that will be your 5th button. Its really easy to add that button in if it is not already pre-wired.

STV- Most games on the STV only require 3 buttons. However, most of the fighters require a kick harness. I know for a fact that a Bob Roberts generic CPS1 kick harness works perfectly on STV, but if yours is wired for CPS2 then you may need to switch around some of the wires to match up with the STV pinout.
