So after playing the hell out of Wii Punch Out lately I was wondering what arcade boxing games people have played that are worth looking at. Obviously the original Punch Out, I have some great memories of playing that as a kid at a local pizza place. The two monitor setup blew me away at the time.

I have Funky Head Boxers for ST-V but haven't played it yet, channelmaniac posted The Final Round which I don't believe I've ever played. What else is out there?

The best boxing game hands down is Konami's MOCAP Boxing. It's quite expensive, though. Great workout. It'll get you breaking a sweat in no time.

I remember seeing that at a Dave and Busters years ago.

Arcade boxing games I've played that are all pretty good:

Funky Head Boxers
Best Bout Boxing
Final Blow
Top Ranking Stars

There was also this boxing game I remember from way back that was on a dual monitor setup. Had these weird plastic cups around dual sticks that acted as the right and left arm controls. I cant for the life of me remember the name of the game though.

Wasn't too bad of a game and the best part of it was that you could fight against another player in addition to the computer fighters. Unfortunately the most frequent problem with the game were the spring assemblies in the controllers would constantly break as well as cracks in the controller base. During the heat of the game play, people tend to forget that swinging the sticks does not make you move faster or punch harder.

That is so true. I remember playing a friend and we would both be trying to punch as if punching harder would do more damage. They really should have made those controllers out of metal cuz arcade owners with this game must have gone through a fair number of broken joysticks.

For some reason this remind me of the arm wrestling games they used to have. Those were awsome :)

They had the Fighting Mania game at coin-op express for 188USD, too bad the shipping would cost a fortune. :crying:

Really would hurt my knuckles..... Scraping on those targets.....
The one we had came with black knuckle gloves tethered on cables to use while playing the game. I'm not sure if this was standard on all units.
