I'm not sure how it's a lot better than the PSPs already out there. That's a lot of memory, but you can get really huge memory cards anyway.

Yeah, this is a bit underwhelming to me. Unless the screen is radically better than the PSP-2000's (which I already have), I don't see much reason to get it.

And they didn't add another analog nub..?!? Personally I don't care, but I thought everyone else was clamoring for one. Huh.

Ummm....... No touch screen or anything? So if I have a high capacity pro duo I don't have any incentive to upgrade?

I usually have to be the first dork on my block to have every new system, but unless that thing has a really incredible looking, ghosting free screen I think I'll have to pass on it.

I really dislike the slider design too. Even if it makes the unit a little smaller it just looks strange and unweildly. A clamshell would have been way better and actually protect the screen during my travels.

"MEH..." to you Sony, a great big stinking unenthusiatistic "MEH..." to you.

I don't think another psp is necessary. That slide down control panel seems a bit excessive and ugly.

Useless like any other PSP.

Bah. There's a few good games on it. I wouldn't say it's fucking great, but it's certainly not useless. If we could get some good new games I might play mine more.

Didn't you have a serious PSP induced chubby and import a JP launch system? You couldn't find a few good games worth keeping it for?

Hmm...might be useful once it's firmware-hacked. Having that much memory on-board right out the box certainly isn't a downer. But, for now, I'll stick to my modded PSP-2000.

Of course, with a new Metal Gear coming and being basically confirmed by John Koller alongside this reveal for the PSP Go, could it possibly be a downloadable title?

PSP games are going to be available in both physical and downloadable formats from now on. At least until a true successor to the PSP is released (which I'm sure will be download-only).

Looks like I better start looking for a PSP-2000 before they become hard to find...

Is it me, or do the latest handheld revisions look like shit in comparison to earlier models? :(

Madness. There are tons of great PSP games.

It's awesome for emulation.

I try to think of mine as a portable PS1.

More like PSP Go Fuck Yourself!

Download only is BS, IMO.

Also 40 odd % lighter than a 3000, which is a lot..

Looks like it may be uncomfy for my big hands. Look where the nub is.

Await more details.

A lot of haters in this thread..

It's not meant to replace the PSP, or so they say. Then again, Nintendo claimed the DS wasn't meant to replace the GBA but look what happened there. It's not like this is new hardware internally though. It plays the exact same games.

In this case, it gives us the option to do it all digitally, with a lot of onboard memory. I would expect extended battery life due to the lack of a physical drive. I used to be turned off by the idea of digital downloads, but over time I have come around. Sure, you can download and play the same games on a regular PSP, but this model is lighter, more compact, and will hopefully benefit from extended battery life.

I'll nab one of these, but I'll also be keeping my PSP-2000 around. Maybe throw CFW on it, I dunno.

If this means the earlier ones will drastically reduce in price, I just might welcome this. To me it looks like the PSP version of the DSi, nifty updates but not worth the extra money over the older models.

SUCK!

Fixed it for you! Try the new PunchOut or I'm telling Nintendo on you.
I'll admit though, we're sitting almost exactly 20 years later and nobody's made a better game to play on the shitter then GB Tetris...........

PSP's biggest weakness is I'm usually ready to pinch it off by the time my game has loaded.

As many others have mentioned, the analog nub placement is terrible. Otherwise, it seems fine. Seems like they're trying to out-cute the DS with the slide thing. And I hope the screen isn't any smaller than before. It's hard for me to judge.

One thing, though... 16 gigs is not a lot, once you start adding movies and tv episodes and whatnot.

I'm buying one launch day for sure, I still have the first revision. I bought my 1000 launch day, I skipped school to ride my bike all the way to gamestop. The tradition will continue :buttrock:

Just doesn't look comfortable to me. The button placement looks too low and the shoulder buttons look like quite a reach.

As much as I bitch, I'll probably have the damn thing day one. I usually can't resist a hardware launch.
