Hey guys i just bought a crazy taxi cabinet a couple days ago and im going to pick it up tommorow. I was wondering if anybody knew anything about this machine, its the sit down type. I was wondering if it used a Naomi computer or what, i looked on wikipedia and they say it does but then the sega site kinda throws me and leads me to think the standup version is the only one that used the Naomi computer. Also i was wondering if you guys new were i could find some replacement parts, the plastic around the shifter is cracked and the steering wheel needs to be replaced. Thanks

Best I can tell is that all the insides stuff are the same in both units. I really don't think there is any difference, but it has been a long time from when I last looked into a sitdown one. I think maybe some of the wiring is a little different but nothing really comes to mind. As far as the parts, I'm not sure where to get that exact part but you would do better over on klov I think to ask for one there.

Thanks, id never posted on that forum before but ill give it a shot. It looks like a good place for that kinda thing. Yeah i was thinking they almost had to be the same machine, but on the sega site under manuals it lists one as the naomi version and one as standard version. So it was just throwing me off but they both use naomi computers so im assuming the monitor has to have a VGA input.

There is a naomi mobo and CT cart underneath the seat area. The monitor is a 29" VGA nanao. As for parts.. good luck.

Well technically sega still has a coin op division unlike capcom and etc in North America, bad news is out of the companies such as capcom and etc, sega has ALWAYS had a notorious reputation for not maintaining a infrastructure for maintaining their arcade games even if the game was only released 3 days ago. during the height of the arcade scene.

Try Betson Enterprises or C.A Robinson

Yeah i wasnt expecting sega to help me out any, but id figure since it was such a popular machine that there would be some parts on ebay but there is almost nothing. But i will try those two places, thanks again and ill post some pics when i get back around 1...

Aight guys i headed up there and when i tested out the crazy taxi the sound wasnt working. So we tinkered with it for a little while an couldent get it to work. So he just told me he would trade me the crazy taxi along with a sega harley davidson cabinet that had no PCB. So i did that, cause i didnt really think the sound issue would be much of a problem. Turns out its a sound board which isnt to much, like 30 bucks i think. Anyways if anybody wants a harley davidson cabinet thats in GOOD shape let me know.

Anyone know where to get the decals for Crazy Taxi? I know some people have gotten replacement side art before.. which is what I need.

Crazy Taxi is awesome, congrats on the purchase.
