What exactly are you trying to do just add glowing LEDs, flashing LEDs, or LED on when button pushed?

So you want to make a princess stick? That's apparently the coined term for it.

Basically you are doing the LED in the AES reset button x 4. But you will need 4 100 ohm resistors assuming your LEDs will have a forward voltage of 3.2v.

The +5v line which is pin 8 on the Neo but since the old style stick doesn't use pin 8 you will have to look at the unused wiring and see if any of them have +5v coming through.

NO, what I meant by reset was that in order for the LEDs to shine into the button properly you need to perform the reset button mod since the old style stick uses the same buttons as the reset button on the AES console.

If you ever saw the reset button mod then you know what I mean. You need to carve out the plastic in the button and put the LED in it.

Go here: www.neostore.com/megamods/NeoMegaMods.pdf

You might as well upgrade the buttons in the stick with some 24mm seimitsus with a clear plunger.

1) Everywhere really... Jameco, Digikey..etc etc
2) Search for dub's tutorial post on modding the old sticks with new buttons and stick.

If you got nearby any elctronic store you can buy there too but be sure about the resistors or you leds will blow up... I bought in special ledstore (internet)

What type of resistor is needed for the controller mod, ialso are they the same for the reset button led mod?

Depends on your LEDs...

but generally you are inputting 5V ... pushing 3.5V and 20mA.

But check with the ones you end up buying... then you can use something like this:
http://ledcalc.com/
and calculate how many, what type of wiring, and it will feed back what resistors you should use.

If you do it like this, then you'll be comfortable with LEDs on other projects if you need them :)

So easiest way to pull power for the LEDs is via the select button with a diode on the start for constant power.

But if you have a neo extension cable lying around you can swap out the cable and just use whatever wire is for pin 8, +5v.

Ya, you need to do the reset button type mod so the light disperses evenly in the button. Maybe next time. I'll try to write a tutorial on it.

Why did you just put them in the enclosure? If you wanted concentrated brightness probably better to put one in each button (as in physically in the button) as XX mentioned about the reset button mod. If you look at that guide you can read about altering the button on an AES case to put an LED inside to light it up. Just do that x4 for your stick buttons.

(haha posted at the same time... my bad)
