some cps2 questions

i just got into the world of cps2 and i really like it thus far but i am confused about some of the problems it can have

i know that the suicide battery will screw up the game and cause it not to work

is there a way to get it working again if it does mess up?

also is there anyone that can suggest to phoenix them? and how much does it typically run to get it done?

yeah thats what the phoenix is for, it gets the game working again once the battery dies.
