So I finally rotated my monitor back to horizontal position, and tossed in my JAMMA-compatible 1-slot MVS (This one: http://www.system16.com/cybercade/systems/neo1slot.html) only to find that all my games play upside-down! I think there's something sketchy with my JAMMA wiring.. Anyone have any ideas? The monitor is right-side up, already checked on that...

maybe you need to flip your yoke connection.

Tried it on my second monitor before you posted, it too is upside down... Played around a little with the yoke connections, can't seem to find the one that would be causing issues.. Any ideas?

most likely the yoke. the other possibility is an option on your jamma board, some have game flip options. is your tube upside down?

Reading up on inverting the yoke for my monitor in particular. The tube's right-side up, and as far as I can tell there isn't a flip option on Neo's 1-slot... See if I can do some research into that first I guess. Alright, it's properly inverted now, but the horizontal is far larger than it should be, I have a horizontal width coil according to my monitor's instructions, but I don't know how to use it, as it's not a regular knob.

you may have a width jumper on the chassis, post a photo of the chassis otherwise you need a plastic hex head trimming tool to adjust the width coil

If you do not want to invert the scan by soldering the leads around the other way

Red><Blue(horizontal scan) Green><Yellow(vertical scan)

This is conventional colour coding for the yoke - however there are some exeptions, if your not sure do not attempt.

You could cut the scan coil plug - then reverse as in the pictures below.

Bump

Is there any way to figure out which is which by looking at the yoke?

I have Red, Yellow, Brown and Blue.

I assume the v scan is brown(instead of green) and yellow.

Here is what the yoke looks like:

If we cant figure it out from the orientation, can I use frequency scans? What freq should the Horizontal and Vertical Scans be?

Much Apreciated

red / blue will be horizontal

brown / yellow vertical

If your not sure, the horizontal will be the lowest resistance, a couple of ohms.

Whereas the vertical will be somewhere around 20 ohms.
