I noticed that the Soul Calibur PCB has a second connector (kick I assume).

IIRC, Soul Calibur only has 4 buttons...

What would happen if I plugged one into a supergun and didn't connect those?
Would it run? What kinda risks am I running?

Thanks.

It will run of course. If it's for extra buttons you just won't be able to use them.

I thought so, but I wanted to be sure.

Amazing that I got an answer in 6 minutes.
Thanks Xian.
I love this forum. :mr_t:

The only thing that would cause a game to not load is if you are missing your +5v or -5v(some games) connection.

no -5 (on a game that requires it)would usually cause no sound- it would still boot up.

On my time killers if there's no -5v it doesn't boot.

I know my tekken 3 board freaks out if it doesn't have +12.

You have 2 options here,

1, install a namco harness in your supergun.

2, solder jumpers to the jamma pins on the pcb.

secret option 3, stop playing namco fighters.

not an option, LOVE YOUR NEO GEO

I soldered from the extra harness to the Jamma side for my tekken 3 board.
Works like a charm and doesn't interfere w/ the edge connector!

I am gonna see if I can find a 48 pin connector or go the lazier route and see if I can find a prewired Namco kick harness.
