Need HELP taking apart 6slot CAB

Yep. I need some serious help, and fast.

I'm moving in just over a month, and I need to take apart my 6 slot Red MVS cab.

the Fregging door in the new house is 27" wide. A 6slot cab is 28" wide.:hammer:

I'm gonna take off the one inch wide panel on one of the sides. Without destroying it in the process if at all possible. looks like that's exactly what's going to happen.
Anyone know how to break one of these down any other way? Thanks.:mad: -DH

I did the same thing. Unfortunately they are glued and stapled together. Just about impossible to break apart without destroying pieces. I broke mine down to each piece and then used the pieces as templates to cut new pieces. Then I reassembled everything with brackets and screws. Now the cabinet is easily broken down and is completely made of new wood. It took me a week and about $200 in material to do this. You probably don't want to do this, but it was the only solution I saw. Here are some pics of mine.

a 6 slot cab is 32 wide. you would have to take the whole thing apart thereby destroying it. if you really are only an inch short of fitting it through the door then youre better off taking the door frame off which should get you 2 inches more room. just make sure to measure several times because it would suck to remove the door frame and still not have it fit

You got me thinking about this all morning..>>>

I went measuring around my apt to see even if I could get one in(to try and help)..I can't ..My doorframes,whew I'd have to destroy stuff to get them off..Let alone the stairs is too thin to go up..
But if I was to get off the doorrame on one side it might fit.

I'd have to stick it in the basement through the cellar door...

My step Dad,a mover.... had to move a big cab and piano..They would not go through the doorways so the moving company got the items in through a big window..

When I brought my 4 slot here I took out the monitor,carts and coin door assembly(LOL getting the coin door back in was harder then the monitor..
It made the cab lighter but was still a bitch to move.

I thought about>If I could lay the cab on it's side and swing the CP around a doorframe but I don't think so..
If the top could be nicely cut off the bottom where the wood meets..

I can only see the 6 cab being taken apart..or sold and buy a smaller Neo

well, thanks all for the suggestions. I measured it again. will not fit. not even layed down swinging it around.

The house is brand new, so were not taking the doorframe off.
Just bought it a year ago, not even paid off with the 6slot mvs or games,
and i have a 4 slot that of course fits just fine through the door. I wanted more cabs than this but now that i'm moving into a "smaller" place i don't see that happening.

looks like i'm destroying one side. they are black neways, gives me a reason to pant them. damnit.

yeah, its not going in sideways. the funny shape makes it even wider overall. if you don't have a way to get a 32.5 inch opening, youre sol. even cutting it in half won't help since neither piece is narrower than 32 inches.

yeah, i realized i put 27" and 28"

I meant to say 2'7" and 2'8"

the door's opening is 31" and the cab is 23"

i'm "finishing" all my old projects, fixing this, tweaking that. so i don't have stuff to do when i move. i'll leave this poor soul's destruction for last, so if anyone else has any easy fix ideas, please share...

I think I'd replace the door with a larger one. That way it'll be easier to move all couches and applicances in too :)

Swap that front door out, you should kill the builder for putting in such a small entrance way. Most normal front doors are wider than 32". Hell, my 6 slot fit into my apartment front door with no problem.

The front door, tis huuuge. My door, inside the hallway is not. The machine must make it inside my door, or i can't keep it.... and i just friggin got it!!!

and to top off everything else, my 4 slot screen blinks white flashes and emits loud noise crackles. hope it's just the power supply. and not the 4 slot itsself.

Now i really gotta get this damn thing inside. looks like hacking off the side(s) is the way to go.\

The supports were already there. The upper half is an exact duplicate, while the lower half is slightly modified, made up with two parts.

i've allways wanted a candy cab... 2 days ago, i was ready to give it back to the person i gave it to, or just give it away. Can't even sell it in this time, not that i realy wanted to....

I move in 10 days now. totaly rededicated to saving this beast. just because everyone else says it can't be done.
removed the cab's joysticks, 6slot, and to speaker glass..thinge..
then i spent like 2 hours with a handsaw cutting as far to the side as i can doing no more damage than removing the interior black paint. see how far i get before it falls apart...

My Six-slot did this. New power supply fixed it.

got 2 seconds, can tell everyone I MADE IT!!!!!! my 6 slot is currently sitting in this very room.... in like 15 pieces.

Learned quite a bit, can tell you the wrong way and the right way to take apart the cab now.
camara is still packed up, will take pics before the reinstall.

oh, and i fixed my atomiswave, stuck it in teh 4 slot, all is well. my unibios went out on my 4 slot mobo. good thing i kept the original!!

as you can see, it's in many pieces, and the screen is set into the machine to keep it in one piece.
2nd after pic shows the left side is still very much connected to the entire cab.
3rd shows how i took a handsaw and sawed down the sides of the machine. Not getting the side panals, but sawing off the wood supports instead.

next comes all the step by step instructions!
