So yeah...I finally got that bastard board working.
I don't have it lined up too well in that picture, plus I took that using MPC and VLC, before I figured out how to make MPC flip the image. If only someone could combine those 2! Each one has it's pluses and minuses.
With the help of 2 of these (Hauppauge ImpactVCB):

And MPC...once I found out how to flip the damn screen vertically. It's not on any menu...found a forum post that directed me to the keyboard shortcuts. Alt-numpad6 if anyone wanted to know.
Plus I think you have to be using the VMR 9 renderless output option and "Use texture surfaces and render video in 3D***" option to make the flipiness work.
Oh yeah I got 2 jroks to get me a nice image. Using composite for the time being. I could, in theory, move up to S-video. Maybe it would get rid of some of the wavyness I see.
The rats nest....
It's funny...the computer I'm doing this on now has 3 capture cards. 2 of those Impact VCB's and my Blackmagic Intensity. That intensity is one picky card. It wouldn't pick up on the x-men output and it wouldn't even pick up on the output of my VCR's!!! Guess they're not quite NTSC enough for it:P
It works pretty well overall. I'm disappointed there's no free play option. I ended up having to grab 2 wires off my old jamma harness and cram em in the new one where the coin switch goes. I stripped the ends of the wires and just touch em to ground to insert some coins. It's pretty ghetto, lol.
Also I forgot the player you play is tied to which controller you're on. So if you only have player one hooked up, you can only play as Cyclops. I guess I need to get cranking making some cables for the other players so I can play as the other people.
It's almost neogeo related....I used my supergun for one of the outputs
