The 5th slot on my 6slot board started giving me vertical lines just now
This happend after I took the board out of the cab and put it back in later..

:help:

I guess I messed something up, although I don't know how, I've taken the thing out dozens of times.
The other slots don't have this issue.

I tried the simple stuff such as reseating the cart, trying diff carts, cleaning the connector on the board and the carts, wiggling the cart, nothing changed.

Anyone have any idea of whats wrong?

I had an issue like that with my 6 slot board. I just cleaned the slots and the cart and the problem cleared itself up.

Could be that the slot is just loose and not making the connection like it used to. Possibly could have happened by removing a game at a slight angle. Take the board out of its metal shell, and gently squeeze the slot together. i used my thumb and the 1st knuckle of my index finger. If you can hear or feel it give a little bit, then you probably just fixed the problem.

Its a bit of a stretch, but it saved my old 4 slot back in the days and it can't hurt to try.

A neat little thing I learned about the Neo Geo recently. You can take the carts out while the system is running, so long as its not running that cart. Could help save time when testing / trouble shooting. Not a big secret I'm sure, but after 5 years of owning various Neo Geo's its news to me.

If its not this, then its likely what Channelmaniac mentioned.

Doesn't appear to be a connector problem, cleaned it a ton and still the same, squeezed/poke it didn't do anything.

Took the board apart and briefly looked over it, and all the traces/connections on the top board look fine, the bottom board has some scrapes (on the bottom), but they don't appear to go through the copper.

I'll look around more thoroughly tomorrow.

My second slot in my two slot does this. It started of just doing it here and there. Know the thing never displays a nice screen, always jailbars. Im thinking of upgrading to a four or six slot eventually.

If you decide you need me to repair it just let me know.

djjimmy: Ditto there... but also, if you want to trade it in on a 4 slot board PM me.

Looked over it some more, found some orange substance
on one of the connectors that joins the 2 boards together.
I noticed this to,
