Were all the versions released all suicide CPU versions?

I got one and it is dead and dead like a dead system 16 board where the red led is on but nothing happening.

Anyone know? Also what rom versions were the non-suicide if any?

Maws is a great source of info for this sort of thing. The link above shows that the US version is unprotected.

Double checked my eprom numbers and I have a US version board, that's dead. Great.

Tested the main board with another ROM board and the mainboard works so something is wrong with my ROM board. All chips are there according to the rom list on maws. Changed all the caps and still the same, so I'm guessing it could be the connectors or one of the three ICs on the board.

Thought I would revisit this PCB since I have more experience fixing boards and come to find out that MAWS is down? What happened?

I know of that site. I think when I first tried this PCB I thought it was jamma but it does have the System 16 pinout. I found one rom that was corrupt and I can't find my System 16 adapter so I need to make one now. Awesome, it just disappeared.

Made a quick adapter with just power and video and it boots up now. I'll finish the adapter to see if it plays.
