MVS portable hacks?

I have pondered doing one, but my skills are not that great, and I am going to begin with something easier. Mainly a famicom portable first, and then move on to something cooler.

Yeah thought about that too but it almost seems easier to do the mvs in some ways since you dont have to do much to the board itself.You can run almost all the wires from the jamma edge which is a lot easier also. Although I have not tried to build either yet so I could be totally wrong. ;)

Getting it to work is the easy part, it's making it look good that makes it a little more challenging. I made a mini cabinet quick once, and most of the work was carefully drilling holes after the wiring I did in an hour or so.

I am having a difficult time finding the MV-1C PCB why is this the main one used in portables is it that much small than the other small mvs boards or is it the orientation of the cart slot.

I think both the small size and console like cart slot are contributing factors in the 1c's choice. It is a lovely small board, Ive got one of them and an 1FZ.
