HI,

Recently got an MVS NEO GEO 6 slot arcade with jamma conversion, took it home and plays fine.

bought a pcb Shadow Warriors (ninja GAiden) board plug it in, and heres where the problem starts:

1) Theres a screetching noise over the sound effects?

2) The coins drop but dont give me a credit to play the game?

3) Also recently no matter if the mvs games or pcb game is on a menus come up on about sound date etc, and states to exit it press ABC buttons all together when i do that the menus are still on and cant get them off?

Please please help as i have saved to get this arcade and now cant even play it.

thanx in advance.

Hi,

Well, about your menu problem, I guess the dip switch 1 on your MVS board is probably on (1) so you get into test mode. Just put it to off (0) and you'll get rid of this.

Concerning your Jamma board problem, I assume your cab is wired MVS and not true Jamma so you won't get sound and credits aren't wired the same way. Have a look at Briggs site (<a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">Hard MVS</a>) and you'll see the differences between MVS and Jamma.

Hope that helps.

Check out if you have a test button wired in your cab. May be this one has a short circuit or is blocked pushed. I can't see any other explanation thus far...

Hmmm, anything could trigger that. You should check to see if ANY grounds are touching any of the wires. Now, about the sound problem, turn down the volume of the PCB itself (if it's MVS, turn the speaker volume slider down, if its a normal JAMMA game, go into the service menu and turn it down there) You should never have the volume on a PCB set all the way up, you can damage your cab. Also, your problem can also be with the voltage on the PSU, try adjusting the +5v line, that's the solution to alot of sound and video problems.

For the self test, what was said above sounds most likly, a bum, test switch.

for the sound, the MVS cabinet sound uses the two speakers hooked up with a ground in between. THIS CAN BURN OUT YOUR NINJA GAIDEN SOUND AMPLIFIER. If its runnign super hot, you will need to cut out the ground common for the two speakers, leaving them both in series. Install a swoitch to reconnect them to get stereo again from the mvs 6.
