Im having some nasty little effects on my cdz.

Whenever I use a shotgun in metal slug the whole screen rips and has a black flash.

In kof 99 when k does his special the toss in the animation is just a jumbled texture.

Also screen tearing when someones ok'd

Anyone have any clues.

Im assuming the gpu in the system is going bunk.

heres a video of wtf its doing.

To me it looks like the audio ground is tied to the video output so whenever there is a "big" boom in sound it interferes with the picture. Could be the PSU as well.

I dunno.

So would one assume a exchange or a refund would be the proper thing to ask for?

Tested with the following

on tube tv with svid and composite
on a plasma with svid and composite
on a lcd with svid and composite

The issue is the unit itself for sure.

Looks like the image output may be too bright when the flash comes on, is there a way to turn the flash off on the CDZ? Try disabling it and try again.

How in the hell would I do that? Also why should this matter.

This didnt start happening untill last week. Plus if turning off the flash does fix it it stil infact means there is something wrong with the system and it should be replaced reguardless.

I'd be more than glad to try turning it off to see what happens though.

Usually in the options of a game there is a "flash feature".

No flash option in metal slug. There is defanitly something wrong with the unit itself./

In the back of the cdz unit one of the pins was bent It didnt look like it was making proper contact inside of the 3 prong psu so i used pilers and straightend it. Then used some rubbing alcohol on the 3 prongs.
