Hi there

I just pluged in my RGB supergun after a very long while and whilst I have sound output from my 47 inch Full HD LG LCD TV, I have no picture at all

I'm sure its not the fault of my supergun, when i packed it up everything was fine.

I am guessing its something to do with a refresh rate thing or something like that ...

For the history, the games I tried were Hammerin Harry and Knights of The Round

If anybody knows please let me know the cause of this

You are better off forgetting about using your supergun on the LCD. I have 2 LCD's and running arcade games on them is NOTHING but trouble. Even the Commodore 64 does not work correctly on either of them.

Unfortunately a good old CRT is an absolute essential for this hobby.

Yeah sadly it's no better with s-video either. Being in Greece rgb is your friend, best bet would be like what Hewitson said and grab a reasonably priced crt tv and don't look back.

Knights of the round is CPS1 right? I know for a fact that most LCDs have trouble displaying the CPS's funky resolution. I've tried playing some on Bibliophile's LCD TV, and they display in black and white!

Possibly in Composite or S-Video, I cannot see how this is possible with component.

Thanks for the answer guys ... problem is i have no picture at all. Not even black and white, nothing

I think its something to do with the refresh like everybody said

I am connecting it through RGB. I'll try to have a go with S-video

If you are getting nothing at all on the screen I would check your ground and sync connections.

Also check the voltage on the SCART if your TV requires a voltage to switch between AV channels.

I have had some really stange experiences with running CMVS or Superguns on newer TV's in general, but especially flat screens. Any kind of HDTV I have tried has had issues. My guess- the upscaling circuit takes a dump on anything that's not perfectly within what it expects. This is the price you pay to go from analog to digital: you loose stuff. I had a friend who tried to hook up his VHS to his new HDTV and had a similar experience. The analog just wasn't agreeable to the digital TV and it simply refused to display correctly.

Interesting... I've never had a problem with old components on my hdtv. I have used my vcr, old consoles, etc etc and have never had issues.

My CMVS thought has a few hickups though.
