Clean the contacts again, but this time with a pink eraser.

Check traces and solder joints.

opened the case today to check solder joints and i found a solder bridge between two pins, so i fired up the soldering iron and now it works great!

Hey guys, sorry for the thread necromancy, but I'm having the same issue with a Windjammers. I've touched up any possible cold solder joints, I removed a solder bridge, and I completely cleaned all the contacts, with an eraser and with contact cleaner -- no improvement. The game plays fine, but the sound has intermittent static bursts.

It's not the cabinet because other PCBs are fine. It's not the motherboard because other MVS carts work fine.

Ideas?

EDIT: Fixed by cleaning the contacts AGAIN and resetting the motherboard memory AGAIN. Sounds great now.
