Hi,
I've recently bought a WindJammers cart which seems to have one corrupted PROM.
The game has no gameplay problems like corrupted sprites and stuff. But I can here some missing sounds, and some cracklings with the flying disc sounds, in fact the sounds are replaced by cracklings.
I've created a modified build of MaMe, so that I can choose which ROM I wanted to load and those I don't. I've tested all the V roms and have the same issues when I disable the V4 rom even if there is less sounds (apparently the onboard V4 rom isn't dead but corrupted). When I received the game he has received a Coca Cola shower I think, it was brown and sticky. Maybe it has dammaged this rom.
I've washed the cart and tried to solder again the V4 rom to see if this can help, but it seems that she has one foot in the grave.
I'm searching the was to fix it. I think a 27C800 in DIP42 will do the job but dawn those eproms seems to be expensive.
Is there another way to do this like wiring a falsh eprom like the AM29F080B.
