In www.cps2shock.com there are all the manuals scanned. In fact I've seen this pin-out a lot in this forum lately, you could search for it.

how i wired it.

originally fomr my site:
Now take kick harness wires 19, 17, 15 (player 1 LK, MK, HK) and wires 21, 23, and 9 (9? yes, 9) (player 2 LK, MK, HK) and put the molex receptacles on 'em like you did with the jamma harness. On the kick harness there are a ton of different ground leads as well, but the ones on the jamma harness work just fine, so you dont need to use em.

For reference volume up and down are 29 and 30 respectively.
:D

oh btw, what games?

but...my pinout is exactly the same!
Yeah, but mine said "Briggs" on it.

Seriously though:

Sonic had it right, I think you did it wrong K.

The thing is (IMO) that the CPS side of the kick is numbered so oddly that you almost have to have a picture to go by.

You know what I found out about this harness? It's also used for games that support more than 2 players. And what really makes for quite a mess, is that many of the pins for the 3P controls are the same pins used for 1P and 2P kicks! I found a way to be able to use both in the same system though, without the buttons interfering. At least, on paper. wink I just learned about the pins for the 4P controls last night, which I am also planning on implementing, and those aren't shared. buttrock

Well, since the other end of the harness would be different depending on if it is going to be used as kick harness for players 1 and 2, or for controls for 3 and 4, it doesn't matter that much if they share pins, I mean, you would need to make 2 harnesses anyway.

yea i know that sucks, but why not just make two?

you get two connectors on a floppy cable anyway wink

then wire the ends to molex connectors (i always use them instead of d sub since theyre easier to work with, although not as clean and nice looking) for your controllers.

atleast thats what ive been planning to do for d&d

Nope. I will never have to change the harness. All there will be is a SPDT switch to throw. This is an early version, but check it out anyway:

Early Wiring Diagram

The switch on the bottom of the diagram will set the control mode. It selects where to complete the ground path. Basically, the 1P and 2P kick buttons will use a seperate ground than all of the other buttons.

When the switch is in the "2P 6 PUSH" position, the ground path to the 1P and 2P kicks will be completed, enabling these buttons and disabling all of the 3P controls.

When the switch is in the "3P 3 PUSH" position, the ground path for all of the 3P controls will be completed (3P will use only 1 ground), enabling 3P and disabling the kicks for 1P and 2P.

So, what do you think?

The problem that I am dealing with now is how to properly support 4P mode for the D&D games. This would be very easy if D&D used only 3 PUSH buttons, like Alien vs. Predator. However, it uses 4, and this presents some SEVERE complications, because with the above system, the 4th buttons are disabled for 1P and 2P. I may end up not doing 4P support, because I have yet to come up with a solution that would be easy enough to switch. Of course, with my current design, even 3P D&D wouldn't be properly supported.

Damn PUSH 4. Damn you to hell!!
