The FF2 is a fan translation, a very good one though. Earthbound is an official translation, the rom is from a prototype that was dumped for the game which was never released. Assuming these are like most of the repros out there.

i thought there was a fan translation of ff2 as well as a full official translation like earthbound that was never released (except as a rom dump and repro)? :conf:

Hrmmm...you might be right, but I was under the impression that FF2 was only translated by Demi-NeoForce(I think that was their name), but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something. Either way both great games and those repros are at very good prices, do you make them 4lom?
