MV-LED Mod

Got all the bits and pieces and put together the harnesses for the pair of MV-LEDs I'll be putting into my control panel.

I find myself trying to figure out how I want to stick 'em in there (the cab's an odd width, and I'm adding a few extra things like a pause button, service toggle, and headphone jacks to it).

I'm wondering how much of a pain in the rear folks think it would be to get one of the MV-LEDs to display the other way around. That is to say, as they are factory built, the LED is on the left side of the board (to be read correctly). What I'm wondering is how much of a pain in the butt it would be to take one of them and make it so the bulk of the board went to the left, putting the LED unit on the right instead.

Only way I can figure to do such a thing would be to de-solder the LED unit, run a set of short wires to each contact and then twist it around, but that just seems really messy.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Anyone? Or was my guess of just unseating the LED bit and running tiny wires the best bet?

Unless there's someone out there with a pair of MV-LED2s that wants to swap.

I don't know that I've seen MV-LED2s for sale anyplace. Suggestions maybe? The different form factor of the boards makes them a little more agreeable to how I'm trying to layout my new CP. Thanks!

Rewiring the LED's should work, and depending on your level of skill also not too hard.

I'll be trying it this coming week. I've got a source to get a spare MV-LED from in case I totally screw the pooch on the original

Funnily enough, I was looking to ask the same question; "how does the wiring work for the led marquee?", when I found this thread (which led me straight down... a path of... sheer MADNESS!).

At this point, the situation is now moot in my cab's case, but I still would like to know he answer.
