...came out this month. Reviews seem split pretty evenly between:

Gushing praise from people who sound like they would gush praise if Kojima released a text message telling them to go fuck themselves that cost $100

and

People saying the game is shit and a complete waste of $8

So have any of you yahoos tried it? I want to hear a real opinion from someone whose taste I can gauge. Konami isn't even trying to pretend it's a proper Metal Gear game; there's no stealth whatsoever. But I'm still curious.

It's mildly fun.

Pretty much a shooting gallery with visuals and story lifted directly from MGS4. There's nothing new added to the MGS canon at all. Just duck, shoot, snipe, repeat.

But if you're looking for a Metal Gear experience of some kind on your phone, you can't go wrong for $8.

Thanks. I haven't played MGS4, so how is the story here on the iPhone game? Does it compliment the story of the PS3 game? Or is it a representation of the same story?

I have yet to finish the iPhone version, but so far the story plays out exactly as it does in MGS4 in the form of text briefings before every mission.
