Hello everyone,
I am interested in replacing a ST-V board in my Die Hard with a Neo geo 1 slot, because Die Hard isn't too popular, but that nice plastic cabinet and big screen could be put to better use. I know I'll have to drill and put 4th buttons into it, but is that connection the same jamma standard as Neo Geo 1 slot?

Also, how do the two 4th button wires insert into the jamma connection?

Thanks alot!

The 4th button goes right into the pins after Button 3 on the Jamma harness (usually empty). Also, you'll need a Jamma>MVS adapter since the setup is slightly different..... or you could just rewire it if you don't plan on changing it back ever.

If the cab still has the pins in the harness for the 2 you need it will be cake. You only need to wire them up to the 4th buttons. No need to do any other rewiring as 1 slots are jamma.

Okay, but how do I wire them up? If there are two buttons installed, each with 2 wires so it's 4 wires total, but only two places on that JAMMA harness for the buttons. Do I combine both negatives and both positives?

The 2 new wires off the harness go to the buttons and you can take the same ground from the other buttons for the other 2.

Every button is just the wire off the harness with a ground connected to it. People daisy chain the grounds.

Hey, so will the buttons tell you (small little symbol, instruction or something) where to put the ground and where the harness wires?

You can put them on either side as long as each button has a ground and the harness wire.

Okay, I'm noticing there are some different looking Neo Geo 1 slot boards on ebay. Some are basically a cartridge and jamma connection and others are a cartridge connection on a big main board. Does it matter what "species" of 1 slot I use? Will either type support all the games, including that wondeful 100-in-1?

Also notice I'll have to put something metal into the jamma harness for the 4th buttons, any tips for that? Thanks alot.

Basically I want to know if these different looking Neo geo 1 slot boards function the same way, accept the same games and all that. It would be cool to put a 100-in-one cart in it.

That last part, that black jamma cable harness has no metal prongs in it for the 4th button, so the 4th buttons can't touch the board, not sure what to do about that.

Ya I know what you meant, I just hate the 100-in-1 carts.

For the pins you need to find out what size the pins are. A lot of people get them from the real bob roberts.

Okay, so I converted it...kind of, haven't got the buttons in yet. But I put Metal Slug in and played it. The cabinet has two coin acceptors and they have seperate wiring, but when I put the credit in both, it doubles player 1's credit and player 2 gets no credits. How can I make this neo geo compatible??

lol @ ruining a Die Hard "garbage can" arcade to play a 100-in-1 bootleg.
