I'm doing some cleaning and I've had this old P2 sitting in my closet for years untouched. It has an Asus P2L97 mobo and worked like a champ the last time I used it. It also includes a Creative AWE64 (I think) sound card, Matrox video card and Ethernet card. Not sure how much RAM is in there, it's 3 sticks and I'm too lazy to look. Processor is included, if memory serves me it's a 233Mhz. Hey, it's free, right?

I figured I'd post it up here if anyone is making a MAME box or oldschool PC rig or something along those lines. Obviously looking to get shipping + Paypal fees for this. Otherwise I'll try to find a place to recycle it or toss it.

If I didn't have enough of the stuff here, this would be gone. A P2 setup has a lot more uses than just ZSNES, for sure. Then again I still like playing DOS games, and that would be a great setup for someone wanting to get into the stuff. Lower end flavors of Linux could run decent on that as well.

I'm not trying to rain-in on a generous offer, here, because getting anything for free is an awesome thing to do for people. But I really think that, in this case, the shipping of a computer case outnumbers the price of the hardware itself. Granted, getting a working system is better than spare parts (particularly for those who are unused to assembling computer hardware) but it might be nice to chop-up the individual parts (hard disk, RAM, any cards, motherboard/processor, power, and case) so that shipping doesn't cost fifty bucks.

I know I'd be interested in any RAM chips you'd be offering (as long as they're not so old that they're proprietary to the brand), for instance, and someone looking to make a supergun may want an AT power supply or, if it's ATX, for their own broken system.

Just a suggestion.

There is no case or power supply involved here. Just a mobo and the parts mentioned. No hard drive either. No loss if people want to make jokes or rip on it (which is expected on this board), it's going in the garbage if nobody wants it. I've just seen people post about putting old school DOS rigs together so I figured I'd offer it.

The only things included are what I mentioned. No cables, no HDD, no power supply, no case, nothing. If you want to know what kind of RAM it takes, you can google the mobo part or I'd be happy to look at the sticks for you. Otherwise, it's going into trash or a recycling facility tomorrow.

Shit, I'll take the stuff if the shipping is cheap enough.

PM sent.
