4 slot mvs sound issue

Ok sound works fine when i first boot the system but when i hit the select game button...........i lose all sound the games play just fine but of couse with ow sound. any help would be great.

Are they all cleaned? Have had a dirty cart in a slot that caused sound to go out and then wouldn't come back for the other carts selected downstream of that one. Cleaned a couple of times... solved problem.

The select button shouldn't have anything to do with losing sound. Let the games go through their attract mode and move to the next slot by themselves. See which game causes the sound to stop. Move the game to a different slot and see if the problem follows the game or stays with the slot.

When sounds are garbled the problem is with the connections to the sound data ROMs. When the sound stops working the problem is with the sound program ROM. When that isn't read properly by the Z80 CPU then the Z80 locks up and you lose all sounds until you reboot.
