If it was free I wouldn't want it. WH series is awful.

Yeah, but instead of standard $3 shipping, it's $7.99 to ship. That means for the same price you could have the second Fatal Fury collection.

Anyways, World Heroes was a really mediocre series; I enjoy 2 and 2Jet... but the first one is crap, and I haven't gotten into Perfect

I enjoyed WH2 and Jet back in the day (and also the Gameboy port of Jet, which was amazingly well-done for the time), and Perfect was okay, but this series has just aged horribly.

ADK's best fighter is Ninja Master's. Still holds up and kicks WH's ass all over the place.

I never heard of World Heroes, other than seeing the occasional SNES copy (I think) for sale back in the mid 90s. I picked up a copy of 2 because it was cheap around 2001 or so, for the MVS, and thought it was halfway decent, though it never got much time in the cab because of other games like, say, SamSho1.

Obviously LyteEdge is right that it hasn't aged well; was it popular back in the day? enough to justify how many carts are out there?

back up to $10 :( interestingly enough, shipping back to 3.99

i enjoyed WH1 back when it was initially released in the arcades. Mostly because I was 7 years old and couldn't even attempt to challenge the teenagers at Street Fighter til I was 8 or 9. Rasputin and Inspector Bison are pretty damn cool characters.

I remember the first one was everywhere, and people loved the whole death match versus option. They should have stuck with that and refined it further, but dumped it after WH2.

Saw Jet at an airport arcade once and that was it. Never saw Perfect anywhere.

I own this and I have yet to play it. :(

I really should pop it in. I used to play WHP all the time when I had my cab.

I had arcade hits 1 on PSP and I never saw World Heroes on it.
And Metal Slug always froze for a second every 2 minutes.

I traded it in today in anger.

I like the World Heroes games...at least from 2 on up. They're not really serious fighting games; more like something like Power Instinct than anything else. Honestly, they have aged far better than the Art Of Fighting series.

And of the Fatal Fury games (not counting the Real Bouts) only Special and 3 really stick out in my mind as being good.

I like all of 'em. Pure nostalgia for me. Perfect is a pretty solid game, really.

It wasn't SFII popular of course, but it was one of the earliest competitors and the original cab definitely made its rounds. My friends appreciated it as an alternative to SFII, it didn't take itself too seriously which all of us liked.

I actually feel the games were pretty good for its time. And as some mentioned, 2 and Perfect are actually pretty darn good.

Haha I just knew that Steve would post in this thread.

Actually, I've harbored the idea of getting whp for a time now.

I thought world heroes looked ugly back when i first saw it in 1996 (i was comparing it to fatal fury special and art of fighting) but once i bought and played it its one of my favourites. 2 and 1 i like a lot. WH2jet and perect ive never really played much

These games are whupping my ass, lol. I don't remember them being this hard/cheap in the arcades.

I hate how you can't change the buttons for individual weak and strong punches/kicks. I know the arcade versions had the whole tap lightly for jab system, but I was never a fan of that system. No wonder I enjoy the SNES ports so much. You can configure it to have true 4 button play, and it makes a huge difference IMO.

Fuck, price went back up to $10.

And haters: fuck you. World Heroes 2, Jet, and Perfect are all great games.

Even though I enjoyed WH as a kid, I felt it was made redundant by all the other superior fighting games. Then... I went back and played WH2 the other day and remembered how fun the death match mode is, especially with 2 players.
Deathmatch FTW!
