Just curious if anyone had some good places for cheap breadboards. Been needing some for some neo stuff as well as a few other projects and Jameco and Mouser both didn't seem to have the cheap brown breadboards I was looking for... maybe I missed them.

Where do you guys get yours?

Brown?? All breadboards I've seen are white.

Are you sure you don't mean prototype boards? If so, RS should have a decent range of them.

Thanks man. Found a lot there but shipping would be a lot.
[Edit: looked around on there and see that they are allied electronics in the US it seems.]

I found these guys http://www.mcmelectronics.com.
Has anyone by chance used them before? Might just give that a go.

Perhaps this is what you're thinking of?

Yeah that would work just fine :)
Thanks for the links... checked digikey a bit but not thoroughly. Will look at those two.

Radioshack has the ones I could use of course but they aren't very good prices. Found some at mcmelectronics that were pretty cheap (small 2"x3" guys were like 60 cents a pop which is right up my alley).

Be even better if there was a place nearby here in Philly that I could just go to and avoid paying $8 shipping on tiny boards like this.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

No prob!
Yeah, that would suck to spend more on shipping than the actual product, lol.

I guess you could always take a trip through the phonebook, there's bound to be some electronics place in a big city like Philly.

Yeah good idea. Used to be in central PA and had a nice source there for stuff. Might even be worth getting the big shopping list together and making a supply trip. haha

$1.99

If your Shack doesn't have it in stock, you can get some ordered to the store... Free Shipping...

Anywhere you go online will have a shipping fee of at least $5-$10.

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/21-4578&cid=prodCrossSell those guys are all brown. I've seen all kinds of colors, but I guess everyone uses a different terminology?!

When most people say breadboard, they are talking about this

Ohh, my bad... I thought that you had been to a ratshack store... Not Ratshack.com....

I was really scratching my head.

In my area there is a surplus shop called Axe Man that sells things like this very very cheap. I don't know if they have Axe Man in other places besides Minnesota.

Sorry, I meant Radio Shack, not RS Components.

I'm sure in a city like Philadelphia theres plenty of places you can buy prototype boards.
