AES control ports

Ive asked the question recently but cant find the thread. Also it seemed to go off track from what I can remember.

Once again.
Why do some MVS boards have AES control ports ?

Sorry for asking the question again.

The manuals say they're for the mahjong controllers...

Anyway, the question why typical AES features are also found on (some) MVS mobo's should be extended to headphone jacks and memory card reader as the 2-slot does have these features (it's the only mobo that has them).

Mahjong games could also run off the standard control panel I think ??? Im not sure.
Anyone with Mahjong carts that are unable to run of the standard mvs control panel.

Getting desperate, apart from the game dev and majhong theories (witch may well be valid) no other ideas ???
