Really?? It sounds too good to be true (not that I don't believe you). I have a few doubts though:

I don't have the PCB but will try to get one if this method actually works (in all cases). Anyway, let's use this pic as reference (please copy & paste):

http://genji.image.pbase.com/u17/mkl/upload/5483908.captaincommandoboard.jpg

You said "Chip CPS-B-21 Pin 45 and 46 was lifted". But as far as I see there aren't chips on the B-board with that many pins: the leftmost ones (solid black chips) are 40 pin. Then there are a couple of 40 pin eproms (one half-hidden by the C-board) and the remaining eproms are 32 pin. So where's this 45+ pin chip? Under the C-board??

IC5 and IC6 are also B-board chips?

My guess is that CPS-B-21 is the big chip on the security (c-) board.

Too lazy to dig out my cps-1 boards :)

All the other fixes for this type of game use a set of replacement roms + a new security (c-) board.

I am posted what the guy do to my dead board to repair...I know nothing abt this.

C.P.S-B21 is a 160pins custom chip on C-Board
IC 5 and 6 are LS245 on C-Board

I can access the pics!

Update!

I send the above to a guy wellknown for arcade stuff.

He tried it out and report that doing the above resulted in the original Ic working as another type.

Current result is promising and a couple of dead board was somewhat able to work with this method and work are up to get it working 100%

theory is that the CPS-B-21 chip can be configured to have 'register
mappings' similar to the older chips (CPS-B-01, CPS-B-14, etc.) by changing
the lines around pins 40-46 and 107-121

I have a Street Fighter 2 WW, I think it is a CPS-1 board, I didn't know CPS-1 suffered from suicide battery. Do you think I might have this problem in the future? Could I do something right now to help it?

Thanks in advance

This is a know method, I once got a bootleg punisher (from coinopexpress  ) with this kind of mod on the C-board.

My mod is a bit different tough, all is done on CPS-B-21 chip : pin 45 & 46 lifted (actually trace was cut, same result...) and both linked to pin 40. Pins 41 42 43 44 soldered together.

Game showed some minor graphics glitches during cutscenes & intro but can't tell for sur if it's from improper mod or the fucking bootleged roms (game was using Final fight sounds & musics... )

Not all CPS1 games suffer from this.

Look at your SF2WW C board (small top one) : no battery soldered (there's a room for it, but it's not fitted) so your game won't die.

If you want to know which CPS games have a suicide battery check here
