neo geo arcade cabinet joystick help

the player 2 side the C and D button doesn't register properly SOMETIMES. I check the connecter and it's connected properly. It happen when this 1 fat kid was smashing the hell out of the button and ever since then the c and d works sometime. I jiggle the wire harness and it work.... so does it mean i have to get a new button wire harness that connect to the button and the board? If so where can i get it ? thanks in advance

There's a break in the wires somewhere. Probably where it connects to the switch.

just tape it up? i notice the wire is pretty short from the board and the buttons therefore it pulls pretty tight. Plus the twisty wrap to hold the wire together suffocate em.

cut all the twisty tie and have the c and d wire spread apart from the rest and it works fine. i guess over time it stiffs in those bented crease that it can't register properly
