Hello, everybody.

I just received an email from Coinop Express advertising another special they are offering based on an arcade closing.

They are offering a container of 35 Astro City at 30,000 Yen (about US$320).

Here is the email:

35pcs Astro City cabinets, all with game boards (some shared)
@JPY 30,000 each

The board list is;

METAL SLUG X
VIRTUA STRIKER 3
VIRTUA STRIKER 3
MACROS PLUS
FINAL ROMANCE R (MAJONG)
FINAL ROMANCE R (MAJONG)
MAJICAL TETRIS CHALLENGER MICKEY
PUZZLE BUBBLE
VIRTUA FIGHTER 4
VIRTUA FIGHTER 4
USAGI (MAJONG)
STREET FIGHTER ZERO 3
STREET FIGHTER ZERO 3
VAMPIRE SAVER
METAL SLUG X
VIRTUA STRIKER 2
VIRTUA STRIKER 2
MAJICAL TETRIS
TWIN BEE YAHO
SHANHANI BANRI NO CHOUJYOU
LEDY & SILVER GUN
POTO POTO
TANTO R
FINAL ROMANCE R (MAJONG)
FINAL ROMANCE R (MAJONG)
SHOCK TROOPERS
SENGOKU ACE
TETRIS
THE LEGEND OF WOLF SP(GAROU DENSETSU)
SNK VS CAPCOM CAOS
TEKEEN TAG
TEKKEN TAG
QUIZ SEKAI WA SHOBAI SHOBAI
METAL SLUG X
PUYO PUYO

All fits into 1x 40ft container. Machines are 110v in good working condition.

They are also described as being 110v in good working condition, so there shouldn't be a need to do a transformer/power supply conversion.

If there is enough interest, I am willing to coordinate another group buy. I am not taking reservations right now, just checking interest. However, I will add this caveat. If we do decide to go through on this, no reservations will be honored without a deposit being sent. The reason for this is simple. I don't want to deal with people asking to join in, only to back out at the last minute as happened with the recent Egret II order.

Anyhow, please post here if interested.

Yep. That's it.

They are organizing a California group buy on shmups. He who pays first...

Thanks for letting me know. I just saw that thread and that is the same offer I got. I am sure there is more demand in California than in the Southeast for them, so if they get it, they get it. But this is just an interest check thread anyway.

320 does that include shipping? I might be interested, I would just have to see what shipping would be to florida.

I could use a candy with Macross Plus to go with my Macross Candy :)

I'm interested. I am guessing the shmups thread isn't going to bring anything much closer to Vermont anyway, so it's good with me no matter who ends up getting it.

I might be interested in this, depending on what shipping to Mass would be from whereever they would be dropped off. Would that be an option?

I'm interested too. I'm wondering how much it would cost + container shipping. I'd be willing to get it wherever it docks..

Edit: Cancel me out on this one. I really want to wait for a multi-res cab of some kind.

------

I'm interested in 1 depending on the details; how much extra above $320 it would be (other fees), and where it would be docking at. Also you know anything about what panels are made for these? They make a 6 button one, don't they?

Also, I call dibs on Twin Bee Yahoo! PCB if it is there. Would be willing to purchase other boards out of the lot as well, if available.

For those interested, if you aren't familiar with this cab:
http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyerdb&subpage=thumbs&id=3013

The 2nd page lists the height and weight.

Shipping will be about $4000, perhaps less. Divide that by 35 cabs and you are averaging about $115 shipping per cab, or about $435 total. There will also be some additional costs such as insurance and customs that pop up.

Hello.

Biblophile, I have a question that would pretty much make or break my interest in doing this. Would it be possible for me to get the cab shipped from you to me after they are delivered? I have never used any freight shipping services, and I do not know what steps to take (how much it costs, where they deliver to(home or a port), or who to use) in terms of that option. Would that even be available to me on this? I would not have any means of driving up there or picking it up as I just have a regular car is why I ask. Please let me know on this if you can.

Thanks

It is possible to get it shipped, but you would have to call the shipping company to arrange shipping and pay for it.

I just had two cabs shipped to me from oldschoolneo when I bought his Megalo and Naomi Universal. I called North American Van Lines (NAVL) 1-800-959-8880 Ext 2842, to get a shipping quote. They will ask for a description of the item, estimated weight, pickup zip code (30076), delivery zip code, and whether you need a lift gate for delivery (which you will, if you are having it delivered to your home rather than a loading dock). (I have a loading dock, so no lift gate is neeed for pickup). They will give you a price quote.

If the price they quote you is acceptable to you, and you decide to have the cab shipped, then you need only call them, let them know, and give them the pickup and delivery addresses. You will have to give them a check when they deliver.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

That helps me quite a bit. Thanks a bunch. I will give them a call and get a quote on how much it would be total delivered to me. After I get that info, if I can swing it, I would be in for an astro from this buy if it happens. Thanks a lot for all that info. Appreciate it :buttrock:

I will let you know for sure once I get a hold of them.

Try Uship as well, it's like a reverse auction of sorts.

You post what you are wanting shipped (brief description, dimensions, weight, etc), the approx time, and the route.

Shippers will provide you with offers on what they will charge, and you can choose which one best applies to your needs.

When I bought my Aero City (from Detroit) I posted an add on Uship. I was able to find a guy with a small box-truck who was moving from Detroit to Florida, and was willing to bring the Aero down with him for a reasonable price.

I accepted his offer, and was very pleased with the service. He called me almost too often providing me with updates on his location. He had the cab tied down to the side of the truck with a mattress over it to keep it safe, and even helped me carry it up the stairs.

Your mileage may vary of course, but I think you might have better luck trying that first.

Even if we are unable to put together an order for the Astro City cabs, you might want to consider getting one of the extra Egret II's we are getting that are on order right now.

Right now, it is at $460 (plus whatever insurance, packing, and customs fees will add on), or probably around $500 total.

However, it will have a Mahjong control panel, and you will need to get a 2-player control panel for it. We are discussing options for the 2P control panel in the Egret thread.

I will consider it. I was going to get $450 for something of mine I was selling, but the person backed out, so I might not be able to get in on that deal at this point. Atleast, I cant pay up right this second. I should have about $200 comming in next week but that wont get me the cab+customs fees. I would like to get in on the egret II deal moreso than the Astro but the Astro deal would give me time to save up. If you want to get me in on the Egret deal, find someone who want a JP 60 gig PS3 and i'll sell it to em for the $$ it would cost for the Egret cab.:multi_co:

Otherwise, I will need to just save up for the next possible buy. Figures an Egret II comes up right when the person who was going to buy it backs out. I hate time wasters..atleast they dont use this site.

If you could take payments on it to secure it, I would be down for one of the cabs+voltage converter. Otherwise, unless my PS3 sells soon I will have to let it pass me by one again.

Either way, I hope you can move that Egret II. Those are some nice cabs.:buttrock:

Bib- I sold the PS3 so I should have enough to afford one of the egret II's next week when it comes. That would leave me with needing to know what shipping would be. I will contact that shipping company you suggested on monday after I get home from work and i'll let you know if I can swing taking one of those extra Egrets from ya.

If I cant its not a big deal as im sure you should have 0 problem moving one of those cabs.

I'm interested, but I would have to raise the money and convince my wife I'm not crazy first. I live in Lexington and have friends in ATL so I could easily get down there to pick it up personally.

Just an update: Coinop has sold this container already, so the offer no longer is available.
