I hate to do this but there's no way I can fit this arcade cab into my home so I have to sell it. It's on craigs at the moment: http://austin.craigslist.org/tag/1026675374.html

The price on craigs is $1300 because it comes with the MAMEPC but if that's not wanted I can take it out and knock off $300. I'm willing to entertain offers (and possibly trades) from people here on NG.com so if you're interested let me know.

As I mentioned before in my posts from when I first got it, the locking mechs on the gameboard door and the CP were drilled out and I haven't repaired them, but apparently that's an easy fix. Even though the door is not shown in the picture, it IS included. More information can be had on the craigs posting.

edit: oh and for those thinking about it... prrrooobably not gonna wanna ship this bitch. It's huge, so pick up only. Sorry.

I've got still got that CPS2 A board. Had some PM's on it but no one confirmed. Comes with 2 OEM clips. Serial # 010239440.
$35 shipped for the A board (paypal, no fee) within the US.

ha thanks Bib. Honestly I don't know that I'll use it that much anyway since I've got my 2 slot big red and it's just too big for me anyway. I'd rather have a nice 29" candy.

wow.... thats a hell of a mark-up on that cabinet. Youre selling it for 5 times more then you came on here bragging about paying for it. Not saying you need to pass the deal you got on to someone else but its a little brazen to do it here isn't it?

Actually, I still have it, and only sent you a message about it so that I wouldn't see anymore "sell me crackers sell me crackers" or related posts. It was never for sale, nor has it ever been listed anywhere for sale for any price.

A for effort!

Let me pull up those old PM's that you thought I got rid of:

So I am going to be selling this, either to you or on ebay very soon. Let me know what you are willing to give for it and we can go from there. :) Thought I would give you first shot before it goes to the wolves on ebay.

-Rob

Why don't you tell me what you are trying to get for it? I don't want to make an offer that you might consider a lowball?

Ouch!

I want it, but I can't give you that much for it. I was thinking something like $200. I am not trying to break the bank over it.

Well i'm not certain really. This one has history back to its origin, and is a legit silkscreened Sega prototype. The last obvious bootleg of this game sold for 800 Euros on ebay about a year ago.

Nice try. Seems pretty clear that you were trying to sell it to me before throwing it to the wolves on ebay. Unless you are willing to sell dirt cheap, I don't think you should be criticizing payment_due.

Note: I am not knocking you for trying to make a profit on Sonic Crackers, even though you got it for free. But at the same time, don't knock payment_due for trying to make a profit on his Megalo.

Bibs, I don't think you understand what I am saying.

I did that so you would shut up about the cart. It has worked so far.

I still have it, so obviously I wasn't going to sell it... Your magnifying glass needs cleaning.

What you think 'seems pretty clear' is so ridiculously incorrect, it isn't even humorous.

I gave Rob that cartridge from my collection free of charge (meaning, no money changed hands when I handed it over) but you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You have no sense for what work and favors Rob did for me or what dealings we have in our past that made it appropriate for me to do so. Frankly, it's none of your business what value or arrangement we have on that transaction and what will happen to the cart in the future. Furthermore, Rob contacted me about your interest in the cart and asked my permission to engage you in a discussion about your interest in it at a more detailed level to find out if you were serious or if it would just cause you to stop badgering him about it, so the owners of this cart, through it's entire history, are connected to what's going on here. I authorized him to entertain a cash offer with you on this game for further discussion between us.

You should see the amount of 'free' items in my house that came from Rob.

Anyway, the reason I don't post here often is because I only open my mouth when I know what I'm talking about. This is one of those situations where the reputation you've cultivated for yourself here on Neo-Geo.Com gave you too much confidence and you've stepped well outside of your yard.

You're missing my point. I am not knocking Rob for trying to sell it for a profit. I just don't think payment_due is doing anything unethical by trying to sell it for me more than he paid for it, so long as he is selling it for fair market value. If someone wins a $20,000 car on a gameshow, or sweepstakes, or a crackerjack box, does the fact that he got it for free mean he can't charge what it's worth? I think not.

If PD is asking an unreasonably high price for something (e.g., asking $600 for something normally worth $100), that's one thing. But I don't see why his getting lucky on getting a good deal on it means he has to sell it dirt cheap.

It was also 'irreprerable' when I bought it, and no one was willing to buy it and try to fix it. I bought it, fixed it so now it's a fully working cabinet. Not an empty shell that is trash-worthy.

But thanks.

No, I got it cheap because

A. the guy didn't know what he had, and that's not even including the 3 games it came with.
B. He thought it was a piece of junk because the video was messed up.

Duly noted...

I remembered the thread, but not the details...

Who is this response to? You quoted me, but you don't seem to be responding to anything that I posted. I pointed out that you were releasing a bunch of incorrect information about Rob and a certain rare prototype Sega Genesis game and you respond to me about some cab and some guy. I am not talking about some cab and some guy, I'm talking about the horrible assumptions you made in your post that you believed were clearly true.

Sounds to me like Rob made a benign comment about Serthanott's post. He simply said he (while keeping his mouth shut about it in the first place) was wondering if anyone would post this information. He didn't call it out as right or wrong, he just added a typical NG meaningless one-liner and you show up digging through PMs doing your best to try to create some sort of negative image of him. I thought you were above that.

My point was that I didn't see anything horrible in Rob trying to sell Crackers, even though he got it for free. I didn't really respond to all the details you posted because I thought they were irrelevant. Whether you gave it to Rob out of appreciation for favors he's done for you, or whether you gave it to him as an alternative to throwing it away, or whether you lost it to him in a poker bet, I don't see it as relevant. My point is that simply that I don't think that if someone gets something well below what it is worth that it means he must sell it for such.

I only dug up the PM's because it seemed that Rob was denying that it was ever for sale to begin with. But nonetheless, my apologies to both you and Rob if either of you thought I was trying to create a negative image of him. What I was trying to do was prevent Rob from creating a negative image of payment_due. Could my comment have been more appropriately defending PD from Seth? Yes. I am human, too. Sometimes I get my foot in my mouth. Forgive me.

Anyhow, I think I have made my point. If anybody still doesn't get it by now, they won't get it by my repeating it.
