Hey guys, i need some help with picking out the right mvs system to buy. After doing some resurch (checking some mvs sites) i figured out i don't want a 1 slot. i want an mvs that can be my only neo geo system. Another worlds, i want one with a memory card slot so i can save games, one with a headphone jack, and i want one that can fit in a 7 foot tall room. And i DEFENATLY dont want an AES.
One more question. Can i edit what saves are on a neo geo memory card through the MVS system???
ANY IDEAS???

Yes you can edit what saves you have on your memory card,go into soft dip options,1 slot is the best to get as the sound is good on it as it has a flip switch for mono and stereo, most people cant get stereo and the 4 and 6 slots are only stereo,i myself had that problem so unless you get a unit that can output stereo you wont be able to hear any good sounds on the 4 and 6 slot while on mono it sounds fine with the 1 slot

This brings up another question, if you don't mine me piggy-backing.

I have two MVS 1-slots--an old-style and a new-style mini. The old one has memory card slots and the new one doesn't. Where the hell do you get MVS memory cards? I would really like to have one for unlocking characters etc.

A neo geo board is jamma compatible.Just make sure the cabinet has all 4 buttons wired up though and then you can play all jamma games on it by just connecting the board to the harness

here are two live auctions at the moment selling them, memory cards work both for mvs and aes

Thanks--that's great that one card works for either system. Didn't realize that but that should make it somewhat easier to find.

LOL that NEOGML Always tries to correct my grammar but he is a fine one to talk,if you check out his posts,he never ever starts a sentance with a cap{block}letter so his grammer is really no better than mine and for that reason neogml if you try to correct my grammer again when you dont know how to type yourself,i will flame you so hard that not even crying in your mothers arms will make you feel better...LOL .Anyway back to the point, the reason the memory cards are so cool is the fact that if you are playing a game in the arcade and you run out of credits, you can then save the game on the card and continue where you left off at home on the home system provided you have the game

The only thing to note on a stereo neo cab is that while it will be 'jamma enough' (if I can say that) to plug in a jamma board the sound output will need looking into.

Don't know if neo cabs are stereo as standard, but if they are then pin 10/11 or whatever it is will need looking at if a mono jamma board is gonna be plugged in.

I hope no one minds me piggy backing off the original question....
I've had a NEO-GEO for quite some time, but I stumbled upon this site and learned about the MVS adapter for the AES, so I just bought a few MVS games. My real question deals with the MVS Are there other ways to play MVS games, like through a Super NOVA? And if i buy a MVS, is it simple plug and play like the AES? And how much do the 6-slot MVSs cost, cabinet and all?
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. Basically I'm trying to decide whether to stick with the AES and turn it into a super NEO-GEO, or to buy an MVS.

buy an mvs,you can use with a super gun, games are cheaper,if harness is all connected its just simply plugging it into the board,i have not much knowledge of the aes adaptors to play mvs so i cant help you with that, but mvs is the way to go
