I went ahead and ordered a monitor bezel along 2 sets of new buttons, some wiring ends, and 2 joysticks from happ today. It came to about $78 however they wouldn't tell me what shipping cost was and they charged me $99 bucks on my credit card, then they sent me an invoice for $112 and charged that to my card. So now, my card has those two charges. I wonder how they can do that without letting you authorize the cost with shipping??? Does anyone know? I emailed them asking that same question and they have yet to respond and it wont let me cancel my order. I wonder if I should call and file a charge back with my credit card.

Yeah, they do that. You better talk with them, they must have charged you twice. I believe this happened to me once with them, too. I usually just go and pick up stuff from them, as I live about an hour away. But, they don't tell you shipping, and you just gotta cross your fingers it's not too high. Not very professional, but then again they aren't used to dealing with just one person. They mostly send stuff to companies only...

Oh, what a transaction. I too have same trouble right now. I think it's just a missdouble charge, so prior charge might be cancelled, if you call. Many companies will first charge some amount from what you've ordered, just to verify card's validity first, then recharge again for acutal pricing when acutally being shipped, cause they won't know actual shipping cost for themselves til they hand it over to the carrier. That may be the reason why second charge is higher. You should've asked for shipping&handling quote in discription before any order if bossible, but some companies won't tell you handling fee. You should call your credit card company(bank)stop charging, if Happs won't reply you any good, or if you think handling fee is too high. They can verify what's being charged actually in description asking happs, and if they admit overcharge or anything, happs will recharge what's correct. So you should prepare a quote without handling fee(you'll know actual shipping cost by your package label.)

Guys,

Before you panic...

Some companies put a "hold" on the dollar amount THEN later do the real transaction. The hold will disappear in 3 or so days.

Please wait for that before you start to panic. ;)

Gas stations do this too (in the US). If you pay at the pump with your card, most stations will pre-verify a $50 charge. It will be removed and the actual gas purchase will replace it within a few hours / days.

This is true, mouser does the same as well. The "project" the shipping cost, then send you a new charge of the actual cost, if the original was an overcharge they issue a refund for the overage.
