Can someone help me and tell me what the pinouts are on the underside of a Genesis model 2 under the 9pin port. I can see the 9 pins on the underside of the motherboard but do not know which are L and R audio. This particular genny 2 I have has the Sony 1645 (my genny 2 MFG date is Sep 1996 WTF!?) chip which is cake for S-vid but I need stereo audio too. I cant find anything on Google and I looked for hours. I know I can just use the official genesis stereo av cable, but would rather have standard jacks. Thanks to anyone that can help me.

I found that sheet but I need the actual label for the pins that correspond to those ones but are on the underside of the motherboard.

You're probably better off using a multimetre to test them and figure it out that way.

I'm not sure how you could work out what pins do what with a multimeter.

The easiest way (assuming you don't have an oscilloscope, of course) would be to make/buy an audio probe.

Well if you're pulling sound from just before the 9-pinout, it's still going to be the same sound you get with regular AV cables, all it's going through is a connector. I'd assume if you pulled the sound off an earlier point on the board you'd have some issues.

I keep thinking a key word here is "Amplified" but don't the speakers in your TV do that anyway? At any rate, I believe it's perfectly safe to take sound from the 9-pinout.
