A/C Adaptor for US Home System

I just purchased a US Home system without an a/c adapter. I figured I could use the genesis adapter I have used on my modded Japanese system for years. Yet it does not work. Why? Do I need a different adapter, or did I get a defunct unit.

You need a 5 volt 1.2 amp adapter, they can be built, please contact Jeff Kurtz for details (he knows where to get the parts!)
