I have a KI1 cabinet and I'm waiting for a MVS 1 slot to show up in the mail. I'm having problems with my KI board, I just got new any IDE bootroms for KI1 and KI2. I was having problems with the KI1 booting up and locking up. Then it stop booting and showing the Killer Instinct screen now it just shows a checkered screen made with white boxes.

I started testing my power supply per the guy who sold me the roms (http://www.revisionx.com/ki.html). I found my +5 was low. So I bumped it up to about 5.05 because he mentioned it should run around 5.01 to 5.1. I then tested my 12v and saw it was running at 13.5/13.8 It's a steady number just don't remember the exact number. If I took it down to 12, my +5 would be around 4.4/4.7 once again steady number just don't remember the exact. I'm assuming these should match 12v should be 12 and +5 should be +5.

Basically i'm asking for suggestions because i don't want to put in my MVS board and cause harm to it.

How much is it shipped? I think $35 shipped is about right for Arcade PSUs as you can always find them cheaper than other places.

The 12 volt rail is not critical (the 5 volts is) without a load ie no audio the 12 volts often measures high. It is not as well regulated as the 5 volts.

12 volts only supplies the audio output stage - that device will be able to operate fine at several volts above 12.

Oops sorry, yes I did mean that one.

Thats the only PSU I'll touch. They are brilliant, never had a single problem with them.

I ordered the other one last night. I'll let you know how it works out. hopefully it'll be ok.

I've been also wondering what are good sites/places to order from. Being new to the hobby i just throw stuff in google and click on a site. Do you guys mind listing a few reliable sites to order parts from?
