Razoola,

Can you tell me anything about a UniBIOS error message at:

Address 000526DA

AC ADRS: --------
R/W: ----

D0: 0000FFFF
D1: 00000000
D2: 00000000
D3: 00000000
D4: 00000000
D5: 00000000
D6: 00000000
D7: 0000FFFF

SSP: CE3FDFFF
SP: 2004

The board gives the musical logo screen, then the Winners Don't Do Drugs screen, and then immediately resets. It's stuck in this loop and I was wondering what the BIOS dump pointed to.

Thanks!

RJ

Thats crashing within game code, not bios code. Need more info about the error (type and address registers and what the game is.

Thanks Raz, it took me awhile to get it back up on the bench, but here it is:

The game that this error message pictures are from is Football Frenzy.

As soon as the Neo Geo splash screen ends this error comes up. It doesn't even show anything on the screen yet from the game.

All the startup sounds are normal and the backup RAM has been cleared.

It passes the built-in diagnostics and I left the work RAM test running for several minutes with no errors found.

I appreciate any insight you can give me on this one.

Raymond

Never mind!

I fixed it.

None of my carts would pass the CRC tests. Hmmm...

I have a Shock Troopers, 2nd Squad cartridge that I leave out of the cartridge case to use it in testing slot issues. Using a logic probe I saw that all 16 data lines were working and the first 17 address lines were working. Line 18 was dead and line 19 was working.

Line A18 was good between the 2 sockets but missing from the connection to NEO-E0, pin 40, at location G3. It looked like it was messed up right under the edge of the cartridge socket.

Patched the trace and played a game. :D
